Starting with the good - the backyard is very spacious. Lots of room for the kids to run around and play. The porch is also lovely and a relaxing place to sit. The house is very conveniently located, only 10-15 minutes from just about everything. The owner was also generally nice.
Moving on to the not so good. The property was passable, but not particularly clean when we arrived - used bars of soap were in the bathroom and dirty dishes were in the cabinets.
There is a toilet that makes a very loud whistling noise, which would wake us up at night. Some of the beds were very uncomfortable, I had to buy a mattress pad just to get some sleep.
Despite what the listing says, you will not have access to an 85 degree pool, as the owner does not give you access to the pool heater yourself. Finally, on day 3, he agreed to turn the heater on during the day, but the pool is too large to effectively be heated.
The new trex decking is beautiful, but gets so hot in the sun, you’ll burn your feet. Wear sandals!
The basement has a sort of damp smell and the bedroom in the basement is the only finished part, so you’ll have to walk through an unfinished basement to get to the bedroom. Definitely not the best bedroom for kids, so just be aware of that.
