Overall, our stay was fine, but there are a few things worth mentioning. Lesson learned: always ask specific questions about amenities. The listing mentioned a coffee pot, but it was a Keurig—not a traditional machine, which was disappointing. We ended up buying our own at the nearby hardware store. The kitchen was minimally stocked: plenty of mismatched dishes and pans, but only three wine glasses. Glad there weren’t more of us.The gas grill was unusable—dirty and full of debris, with evidence of rodents and spider webs. We didn’t bother trying to clean it.Lighting was frustrating. While there were lamps in most rooms, many lacked bulbs. We had to move lamps from the primary bedroom to other rooms just to have light. One bedroom ("the blue room") didn’t have a window A/C unit, and the window couldn’t safely be opened. The ceiling fan worked, but the loose mount made it feel unsafe. The screened-in patio could have been a great space but was neglected. Couch cushions were missing, screens damaged or missing, and slider locks were broken. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a while—complete with a 2021 Cape Cod Times left on the table. The house met our basic needs, and we enjoyed our time on the Cape, but it would benefit from a thorough cleaning and more attention to guest comfort and details.
