"First time staying here as a family of 4, and it was great! We booked 2 rooms and they were huge, all equipped with the basics of mini fridge, TV (ours was static-y, but we spent most of the time outdoors anyway) and a coffee machine. Really well-situated just 5-10 minutes from the South Rim entrance and only a few minutes walk to the bus stops to go sightseeing and the beginning of the popular Bright Angel trail. The restaurants in the park close around 9pm at the latest, but it wasn't a problem because we were so close to the entrance that we could just head out and come back with no issues. The property itself was clean, the price was reasonable & affordable - especially since we came in July during peak season - the employees were friendly & helpful, and we were so close to shops, park transportation and the trails that it made our trip perfect! Highly recommend!"
"This is an ideal location. If you're not looking for fancy, over the top, this is the place to stay. It's small and comfortable. The rooms are clean, the buffet could be a little better (they changed 'servicers' since our last visit in October 2025 and it was much better then). Overall, a good clean place to stay."
"The staff at all levels helpful and answered questions and gave additional helpful directions.
What we didn’t like was the sticker shock for cocktails. $24.00 for a drink, ridiculous. We were going to have dinner at Canyon steakhouse, but after sticker shock of a few cocktails and appetizers. We went to another steakhouse restaurant."
Holiday Inn Resort The Squire at Grand Canyon by IHG
8/10 Good
"This hotel was great proximity for hopping on the shuttle to the Grand Canyon. The kids enjoyed the many water play areas and the yard games. The restaurants were delicious and the kids eat free perk was amazing. The pools did not feel heated. There was trash and piles of wet towels left around the pool area overnight. I didn’t enjoy the doorless shower which made the floor super slick. The water bottle refill station in the lobby was super helpful for stocking up for a hot day at the Grand Canyon and the water was cold and refreshing unlike many refill stations. The gym was good with lots of space for everyone to spread out. I wish there were more mats, and it was hard to find the entrance when the pool doors were closed. The lobby smelled like cigarette smoke and every time I had to get a concierge help, the line took a really long time. They ran out of keys when I first arrived and we only got one. My kids loved the pool movie night and the smores bar. Overall it was a good stay."
"Excellent staff all around, very welcoming environment. We would stay here again without hesitation. There was ample parking and the rooms were well presented."
"This lodge was super cute! You could walk right outside your lodge and walk less than 25 feet to the rim of the Grand Canyon. We hoped with the cooler weather that the room would cool off, but no luck. It was worth the one night stay to be that close to see the sunset in the night we checked in and the sunrise the morning of checking out. Breakfast at Harvey’s Cafe was delicious too!"
