日本で珍しいタイプのホテル

私の宿泊した部屋には、電話もエアコンもテレビもありませんでした。電話をかけたい時は、レセプションの電話を使わせてもらいました。不便と思われる方もいらっしゃるかもしれませんが、そうしているとホテルスタッフと打ち解けていき、滞在中は様々な要望に応えていただく事になりました。部屋には窓ガラスがなく、壁の多くの部分が格子になっています。風通しが良く大変快適に滞在できました。また、網戸は設置されていないので格子から虫や小鳥が出入りし放題です。驚くこともありますが、結構楽しませてもらいました。風光明媚なロケーションで、日本のホテルでは味わう機会がない良質な滞在ができたことに満足しています。

The rooms have zero soundproofing as completely open to nature and the busy, noisy road close by. Difficult to sleep at night with all the traffic and animals noises. Recommend it for a few nights, but no more than 2-3 max

Lovely staff, beautiful and green estate with amazing trails surrounded by nature. The quality of the food at the restaurant was high, however we would have liked more options. The pool, the serenity of the hotel and the views will be missed! Lastly, the activities offered were really interesting and worth the money - we did the volcano experience, the Gros Piton hike, the sunset cruise, bean to bar, sunrise yoga and a massage at the spa. We will be back 😄

When I arrived I didn’t get offered any of the VIP offerings. Why list this hotel as we VIP ( one of the only reasons I booked it). Staff is extremely rude and does not provide accurate information.

The property was beautiful. The staff there were very nice and pleasant. The food was delicious and we enjoy ourselves. They provided us with transportation to see other parts of the island and we had a great time. We met a lot of nice people. This would be a great trip to relax and just enjoy life.

We booked a Luxe Lodge (Room No.8) which had beautiful views of the surrounding area, and which included both the Pitons. The concept of open plan rooms is wonderful but lacking in forethought. Primary reason is the main North to South connecting road which runs adjacent to the hotel. The traffic results in constant noise which you cannot shut out. Additionally, if you use the lodge we stayed in as an example, they are looking tired and in need of refurbishment. As for the restaurant, complimentary breakfasts were particularly good. However, dinners were average and expensive. Similarly, alcohol was overpriced. The excursions offered by the hotel were also exorbitantly expensive. We consider that due to the sale of the Hotel Chocolate brand to Mars, there is low morale and motivation among the staff due to a lack of management. The assumption being that previous management have gained employment in alternative establishments.

This place is TERRIBLE! Don’t stay here. Charge you for a King size bed and give you a full. No AC, gross place!

This is a unique resort with a beautiful view of petite piton, set in a lush jungle hillside. There are tranquil areas for relaxing and trails for walking. The on site restaurant served flavorful and creative dishes although the menu was the same each day. The rooms are open air, so you do not have A/C while doing hair & makeup. They do provide fans. Birds did get into our room several times and pooped, the staff cleaned up, so be sure to put away your toothbrush each day. If you like glamping, this is similar, nature sounds at night, the heat, etc. The bed was firm and pillows extra firm, so ask for soft ones if needed. We stayed 4 days, one or two days would have been sufficient.

Overall nice property. Quiet no night entertainment. If you’re wanting a place to relax, this is it. Food is expensive, however Breakfast is included and it’s good.

Beautiful accommodations, nice restaurant and pool all with wonderful view of Petite Piton. Learning how chocolate is grown and actually making chocolate was a plus.

Staying at Hotel Chocolat is a great experience. Our Deluxe room was great with an amazing view of Petit Piton. The food in the restaurant was excellent and lots of the dishes have chocolate woven into the recipe. Highly recommended for a special treat.

This was one of the finest hotels I’ve ever stayed in (I’ve traveled to 27 countries and love staying in boutique hotels). The view at the pool and restaurant is unbelievable. The service was incredible and all the food and beverages we consumed were delicious. We also walked to the Sulphur Springs through the cocoa farm which was a very unique perk as well. 5 stars!

Likes: a) the hotel was situated in a nice area of St. Lucia. b) the staff were very friendly Dislikes: a) we felt trapped as travel and food costs were quite expensive b) the resort could have shuttle service to the nearest town centre

Know before you go - This isn't luxury, it’s eco! Positive: Breakfast is excellent, best on the island so far! Beautiful gardens. The dining area has a very cool view of petit Peton. (A must hike for the adventurous!) Massage was brilliant ($140 for 50 mins) Negatives: The room is open, no repellent or coils are provided and the mosquito netting has so many holes in it, so got shredded. The bed and pillows were really hard and uncomfortable. Worst nights sleep in months. Half the staff were lovely and genuine and the other have gave us the vibes of a snooty LA restaurant, where you’re inconveniencing them. Pool area was such a disappointment, honesty bar which you have to serve yourself a mini Heineken for the $8 privilege and a freezing cold pool my wife couldn’t compel herself to go in. (She’s not a wuss either!) Summary: Cool vibes, decent breakfast with a great view of the piton. Otherwise, really budget and absolute rip off for $600 per night. Spend a bit more and get twice the experience at Ladera. Sugar beach is amazing and super comfortable but very Americanised, so each to their own. I defo wouldn’t go back, at even half the price. However if you’re into the ‘cool vibes’ and want a shot for the gram and willing to have shirty service and an uncomfortable nights sleep and don’t want to pay a bit more, then this might be for you!

Great property, central location to everything and staff was amazing. My only issue was sleeping. Please be advised it is an outdoor bungalow so you will not only here all of nature, but everyone's conversations and "activities" at night. It was extremely noisy and also felt like i had no privacy since i assumed everyone could here me as well. They do provide earplugs. Birds did come in and out of room and we still got bit by mosquitos (even after spraying whole bed with bug spray each night prior to sleeping). I recommend making the mosquito net longer. There is no air conditioning and it rains a lot. Outside the lack of sleep, everything else was nice. We enjoyed the beautiful chocolate and morning breakfast. Project chocolate was so much fun. High stars on everything, except sleep

Exquisite property. Pure relaxation. Everything was thought of- umbrellas, mosquito nets and repellents just in case (though wondering where are they?), beach towels. Small touches like chocolate cookies and yoga mats are available every day in the room for extra “chocolate covered” experience. We experienced the closest connection to nature as there are no tvs or acs. Falling asleep to the sounds of rain and waking up with birds singing made our stay extra relaxing and fulfilling.

This hotel is perfect if you are looking for a sanctuary that delivers on multiple levels… You are guaranteed to experience some form of inspiration, renewal and decadence. The property and the area was beautiful. The staff were friendly. Check in and check out was a breeze. Rooms were close to the reception bldg-same area as restaurant. There were several options for daily activities. The pool area was nice. They had a tranquility area where you could relax. There were several trails on the property that would lead you to different places. The breakfast was delicious. The chocolate tour is a must do. You could request taxi service at the front desk whenever you needed. This place was intimate and the views were amazing!

Don't be fooled - this is NOT a luxury resort! The several 10/10 reviews have to be fake, those ratings are ridiculous. The place maybe rates 2 or 3 stars, but I have given it 1 star to try to bring the "exceptional" rating down so others are not conned into thinking this place is a high quality resort... my wife and I have stayed in many Four Seasons-level resorts and this is not remotely in the same ballpark, despite the pictures and the fancy food photography. "Eco-friendly" means that there is no A/C and the rooms are hot, rancid with bug spray and have no screens at all, leaving the room open to all the bugs in the surrounding rain-forest (despite the choking spray). Even the floorboards and shower are open to the outside, so we had a lizard in the rafters above our bed, along with moths, mosquitos and ants. The food looks better than it tastes, and the nearest beach is a taxi ride away. We moved out after one uncomfortable night and moved to the Windjammer, which is on a whole different luxury level for about the same price. We're currently trying to get our money back for our prepaid 6-day booking at Chocolat, which was the biggest disappointment of my well-travelled life.
