Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Positives -
The balcony is genuinely useful for drying clothes and towels. On-site parking is a major plus in Hossegor as street parking is a nightmare, though spaces fill quickly. The location itself is excellent and easily walkable to both the lake and town centre.
Negatives -
Check-in & Access: The door code didn't work. We had to trek back to reception, which is in a different building on a different street—information you only discover after arrival. They issued a replacement code.
Comfort & Basics: No air conditioning. No hot water the final two nights (admittedly less critical in 38-degree heat, but still). The shower drained poorly.
Housekeeping & Amenities: Fresh towels and bedding aren't replaced during your stay unless you pay (buying your own is cheaper). Shower gel ran out in two days. No toilet paper refills. No hooks for hand towels in the bathroom. Ironing board provided but no iron. The balcony door doesn't lock.
Service: When we mentioned the hot water issue at checkout, the staff member's response was a casual "yeah, we know there's a problem" no apology, no acknowledgment. Across our stay, we encountered four staff members. Three of them didn't smile once.
Overall, the hotel is in a fantastic location, but cuts corners on guest comfort and hospitality. Better for a quick stopover than a proper stay.
