"Really enjoyed our stay, however, we think the description of property should be more transparent to tell guests that the driveway to the house is steep and an all wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended. We managed with our Buick Enclave but it was a struggle. I saw this info in the reviews but not in your description and wish we were more prepared for getting in & out of the property. Your directions to the house were confusing in that you mentioned going through an iron gate. There were 2 iron gates, and at first we went through the wrong one. It would be a good idea to put a sign for Big Oaks Pointe on the iron gate you are referring to in your description. Also, based on the description, our group (2 older couples) was expecting both bedrooms to have private bathrooms but this was not the case for the bedroom with queen bed. Another suggestion coming from the senior citizen perspective, a bath mat was missing in one of the tub/showers which made getting in & out of the tub a little slippery. We enjoyed the cleanliness of the cabin, as well as the peaceful setting. In the mornings we enjoyed our coffee while looking at the beautiful mountain views and listening to the Tuckasegee River. A little table on the deck to put our coffee cups would have been nice. The television in the living room no longer supports Netflix but we were able to find other movies at night to wind down. Overall, our stay in the cabin helped make our vacation a very pleasant and memorable one."

"When you’re driving, hiking, tubing, swimming, rafting, waterskiing and other outdoor activities, it is nice to go back to town and park the vehicle and walk to whatever you are doing for the night. We used the kitchen for breakfast and lunch prep, but ate out at night. Solo parent (not single parent) plus 6 kids. The house is the same size as ours at home, but some bedrooms are larger. Family room open to dining area is large and accommodated our family well. We stayed 7 nights, so we did laundry and dishes too. Only oddity is two bedrooms were separated by glass doors with a shade on one side. Not a problem for our family. But if you have all couples, you need to know them well so they don’t peek through when you are making noises. Bedrooms have sleep machines—nice addition.The LP collection is eclectic. The classic video game emulator was fun to try, as was the miniaturized shuffleboard and skeeball. Kids plugged their switch into the tv. WiFi mostly worked. We didn’t used the fire pit. Back yard deck was great. Never set foot on the front porch.Reached out to owner about something while in town and got a quick response. What more could you ask for?Look at the photos. If they look like what would work for you, then do it. Cabins are overrated when you are out in nature all day. It’s vacation; go to the restaurants, bars and shopping too. This is very conveniently located."

"Property was immaculate and well equipped (only thing that would have been nice would be a hair dryer). Great location to the train and easy walk into town. The BC Brewery was a few minutes walk and was great! Communication was a bit slow however could have just been me not being “techno”. Would definitely stay here again!"

"We thought based on the picture online that we would be in the front room, which was no big deal. The back room was perfect for us. There was an in room window unit air conditioner operating but the air-conditioning for the unit took until way after midnight to get down to 72. I could not feel any cool air coming from the vents in the ceiling. It ended up not being a problem the coffee at dolce was absolutely wonderful. We would definitely stay there again but we will make sure we get the Everett suite so we can be in the front next time. Thank you so much."
