Tettegouche Log Cabin Lake Superior views, Sauna, 4 state parks, snowshoe trails
Hand scribed log cabin perched high on a cliff overlooking lake superior. Surrounded by big red and white pines, it truly is the 'land of the pines.' Kick back on the deck or in the large screen porch and watch the ships coming and going from Silver Bay Harbor. Huge view of the lake and Palisade Head. Very private and peaceful.
Tons to do, near Tettegouche, Judge Magney, Temperance and Split Rock state parks and Silver Bay Marina. Excellent waterfalls, Baptism river, swimming, hiking, fishing, biking, rock climbing, sailing, boating, kayaking, the list goes on... or a perfect spot to sit and take in the views and do nothing at all.
Winter season brings a whole new array of activities and scenery. The snow covered white pines with the blue water of Lake Superior is amazing! We have a sweet dove tail wood fired sauna. There are 2 sets of snowshoes and trails from the door. Also several great cross country ski trails nearby, including Tettegouche State Park, where you can ski into an old hunting camp of several log cabins and a nice lodge. You can pack in a lunch and make a fire in the fireplace. There is also the Northwoods Ski Trail in Silver Bay and Flathorn-Gegoka in Isabella, just to name a few.
There is a queen and a double bed in the loft with a huge skylight for star gazing and lightning storms. The screen porch also has incredible views and is a comfortable place to relax, there is also a comfy futon in the living room.
Centrally located on the North Shore only 50 miles to Grand Marais, 58 miles to Duluth or 50 miles to Ely and the Boundary Waters. The Silver Bay Marina is only six miles away. Superior Hiking trail is a quarter mile. Ring camera doorbell is on site; located beside entry door. Kayak rental is available from Sawbill outfitters.

We had an amazing time at this cabin. The cabin and property were beautiful. It was so cozy and we enjoyed looking at the beautiful view from the porch.
The cabin was very clean and cozy. We absolutely loved the view from the deck! It was a great location for us as we were able to visit Finland, MN without camping. We had a very relaxing stay.

This was the best weekend getaway! Very nice set up and beautiful scenery. Will be coming back again.
This is our second time staying at the Tettegouche Cabin and it was wonderful. We enjoyed the location, view, and screened in porch. It's a sweet little cabin in the woods. We will be back again!
Had a wonderful stay at this cabin! Had everything we needed and a convenient location to some beautiful sites along the North Shore. Absolutely stunning view of Lake Superior!
My partner and I had a lovely stay at this beautiful Cabin. It was very peaceful and beautiful at the property and everything was in good condition and clean. We loved the wood fire sauna and wood stove in the cabin, made for a cozy stay! Highly recommend!
We had a lovely stay here! Spotlessly clean and everything we needed for a beautiful long weekend of hiking, biking, swimming, yoga on the porch, sauna at the end of the day, stargazing on the deck. Wonderful!
This rental surpassed our hopes for our 10th wedding anniversary relaxing getaway. The cozy and beautiful cabin with a relaxing sauna and mesmerizing viewes were perfect! Ed and Shawn are wonderful hosts. The waterfalls, hiking trails, and beaches are fantastic! We can't wait to come back.
Anniversary weekend and this place was perfect to rest up (nice sauna) after hiking all day. The hosts even blazed a snowshoe trail for us! The view of the lake was top notch!! We will return.
This cabin is outstanding! The location, cleanliness, amenities, and size suited us perfectly. All of our expectations were exceeded and I would highly recommend a stay at this cabin to anyone looking for this type of quiet, peaceful getaway. We are very grateful for this experience and hope to visit again someday.
Thank you for another lovely visit! We enjoyed daily hikes up and down the coast, investigating a few new spots to change things up. The weather was perfectly mixed, and topping off a chilly morning walk or a toasty afternoon climb with a sauna and then a beer on the deck was amazing!! We had everything we needed and were able to fully relax. Thank you!!

This cozy little cabin in the woods exceeded our expectations. It has everything you need for a private getaway to the woods. The private wood-fired sauna was amazing. It was so delightful and relaxing, we barely wanted to leave to explore all that is nearby, of which there is quite a lot.
Shawn & Ed were just awesome to work with, they are solid gold hosts! Their cabin is SO SO SO PRECIOUS. We hope to come back very soon! The wood fire sauna was beyond wonderful:) this gem is worth the stay, trust us on this one peeps!
The cabin was gorgeous and it was so quiet and peaceful among the trees. Had a few fun (and safe) experiences with a black bear around the property as it explored. Shawn was always responsive and helpful!
We absolutely loved this cabin. It was so quaint and we could not have asked for better views of Lake Superior! The cabin is furnished with everything you need. We really enjoyed the sauna as the weather was a bit cool. It was perfect! We definitely want to come back and stay in the winter. We highly recommend this cabin for your North Shore get away.
We loved the setting - the view of the water and the surrounding woods with the perfect clearing for a campfire. And we loved the simple and thoughtful design of the cabin and its furnishings that made it easy to relax and rejuvenate. On our last night, the clouds blew away and we could stare at the stars through the cabin windows.
Beautiful, quite area about 1hr north of Duluth. Cabin is very impressive, hand built by property owners. Amazing views of Lake Superior, small lakeside towns are just a short drive away.
Odd property as base of bluff, not sure what's going on there, but it looks like it's up for sale.
If you're looking for some peace and quite away from it all, this cabin definitely is the place to be!
Loved being there. The place was very clean and loved the outdoor decks and screened in porch. Water pressure was great. WIFI was perfect. Kitchen was well stocked with kitchenware's. Ed and Shawn were good at communication. The surrounding are is beautiful. We went to Grand Marias (50 miles) and had a great time poking around town and going to dinner. Definately would sstay here again.
We had a lovely time in this cabin. The fire pit is perfect, with comfortable chairs. A marshmallow/hot dog roasting stick in the kitchen! Excellent Weber gas grill. Didn't try the sauna but it looked amazing. Generous supply of firewood. Skylight provided lovely nighttime views.
We did not hear any other people in the area, aside from faint noise from the highway.
