The EDGE: Picturesque & Secluded Gem - Scenic View

At The EDGE of the Sierra National Forest is where you are going to find yourself when your stay is booked at our family mountain getaway. Our home has one of the best views in all of Shaver and you'll enjoy looking out over the forest watching along as the clouds roll by throughout your stay. Perched on a solid granite slab overlooking the Sierra National Forest with Kings Canyon National Park and Sequoia National Park off in the distance, this is a perfect spot to launch into the forest for hiking and outdoor exploration. In the winter, children can sled right outside the downstairs sliding doors and then come inside and warm up next to the fireplace. Or enjoy your time skiing at China Peak, only 21 miles up the road from our home. When there isn't snow there is lots of runaround space in the gated neighborhood. Bring bikes and scooters, or set up a game of whiffle ball at the end of the cul-de-sac. In the summer, Shaver Lake Marina is 4 miles up the road.

The outside is brought indoors with a 2400 sq. ft. reverse floor plan space featuring great views. Slate flooring and bathrooms, wood flooring in the common living area, knotty pine accents throughout the home, and handmade pine barnyard sliding doors as your gateway to the outdoors. Delight in the carefully curated decor of handmade and vintage pieces, mid-century modern furnishings, and rustic elements reminiscent of an old mountain home.

The kitchen features a full array of KitchenAid stainless steel appliances including a range, oven, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher - everything you need to enjoy an evening meal after a long day of mountain and lake activities. Pull up a stool at the fifteen foot granite counter to chit chat, eat breakfast, solve a puzzle, or play a hand of cards. In the morning, grab a cup of coffee or tea and head out to the balcony seating area which offers an astonishing view of the sun rising over the mountain ridge. The balcony is a great spot to read and talk while the kids play outside below. The living area is furnished with a solid distressed pine sideboard stocked with many of our favorite games and puzzles for all ages to enjoy and spend hours playing together.

Prepare your own home cooked meal or get take out from Cressman's or Shaver Lake Pizza (our family favorites) and eat at the reclaimed solid pine dining table. In the evenings, sink into the buttery Italian-tanned leather sofa around the gas fireplace, which turns on with the flick of a switch. All flatscreen televisions are equipped with DISH TV, equipped with hundreds of channels, including Sirius XM. The upstairs Master Suite also has a gas fireplace, jacuzzi tub, dual walk-in slate shower and a king size bed. There are two bedrooms downstairs with a full bathroom located in the downstairs hallway. All comforters are 100% down with duvet covers. Linens and towels are provided.

This is a quiet neighborhood with only a few rentals. This is a single-family home rental with HOA rules that are expected to be honored. We feel very blessed to have this as our vacation home and ask that renters be considerate to not just our home but also to our neighbors. It's disheartening for all of us when people are disruptive and leave litter on the granite slab, which is a common area to us all. Please feel welcomed and at home because we've incorporated so many things for others to enjoy, but also be mindful to the property and the nature surrounding it so that we can continue to open it to guests.
