The home was beautiful but not kept up, great location, & had great space. The DAY we were due to check in the management co. called us while on our way & said they had some issues & did not have a crew to clean the home for our arrival. The options were- 1.Cancel. 2.Move to another location w/ less bedrooms, less bathrooms, 4 less beds, less amenities such as no game room for kids & more outdated FOR THE SAME PRICE. 3.Clean the house ourselves and we would not have to pay the cleaning fee. Since we were already on our way we could not cancel, the alternative home wouldn't be suitable for our needs, which left us with clean the home ourselves. It was so disappointing & frustrating, especially with no foresight. The location was just as the last people had left it. They had not even provided any supplies such as shampoo, tp, dish soap, sponges, garbage bags etc. There was a mop in the snow w/ a few strings & was black & the dryer took about 3 hours to dry a load taking until midnight for clean sheets. We ended up making a store run to buy cleaning & home supplies for our stay. We contacted VRBO & let them know the situation so they were aware as well as to protect ourselves from being responsible for anything from the previous guests. VRBO offered $100 goodwill reimbursement to cover the supplies as the property management would do nothing more. After 2 calls in 2 weeks, we have still have received nothing from VRBO. Could have been great but managed and taken care of poorly:(
