Shady Cove Public Use Area

The fridge in my room did not work and when it was addressed with staff it was not fixed. My tub did not drain in my room either. The rooftop was the main reason for my booking and it was closed two of my three night stay. I ended up checking out early due to failure to fix problems in my room and non responsiveness of staff. I have tried contracting property management and have not heard back. Very disappointed for my first time in Memphis for it to go this way. Hotel staff also failed to ask me about parking my vehicle and I ended up paying nearly 40 per night to work when the hotel offers it cheaper to guests. I asked at check in about parking and was only told where the garage closest was but they never asked for my plate information for anything else to charge me for parking. I only found out from another guest after having issues paying for parking that the hotel offered a cheaper rate and charged it to the room. For the amount I spent I am extremely upset by lack of communication from the hotel or any offer to fix the situation.

I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past and have never had an issue, which makes this experience especially disappointing. The hotel is in serious need of renovation, and the elevators also appear to need significant repair and maintenance. I stayed in the room for three days, and after returning home, I discovered numerous bug bites all over my body. I did not have any bites prior to my stay, and during my visit I was never outside in an environment where mosquitoes would likely have been an issue. I have alerted the hotel staff about my experience and the room I stayed in. I sincerely hope they investigate the situation and take whatever steps are necessary to address it so that another guest does not have the same experience. As someone who has stayed here many times without a problem, I hope management takes this seriously and makes the necessary improvements.
