Nice simple place with everything we needed. The room was clean, pleasant, and had a great view of the mountains. Access to the kitchen and laundry was a great bonus. The staff member who supported us was very enjoyable and informative. We enjoyed our two night stay.

We were welcomed by a fill-in for the owner, and she was very nice. A simple, small room, clean, with a spectacular view out the back of the mountain as the rain fell, creating many waterfalls. Seydisfjordur is a special place, the aura of a smallish town that is welcoming to visitors, and the hotel felt the same. The communal kitchen where you could make coffee or tea or hot chocolate provided (and any other meal) with board games and seating, so lovely. We had a wonderful dinner in town at the cafe, and wonderful walk around the lake and the "downtown". And it had great meaning, "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" was filmed here and its inspirational messages resonated during our stay and for always. Thank you!

The beds were comfortable and the guest kitchen had a nice set up. The tv room seating is not very comfortable and exterior doors are drafty- wind was coming through. Guesthouse is located across from ferry dock and close enough to restaurants and other places.

We wished we could have stayed longer than one night! The beds were comfortable, the community kitchen well appointed and the used of the laundry facilities much appreciated. It was easy to walk to restaurants and sights too.

Very expensive nightly rate for “no breakfast, shower not very good, water going over the floor as only a shower curtain. The surroundings of the building looked dirty and unkept. Nobody around to get any extra towels or anything. Sorry, but we would not book here again.

We LOVED this Guesthouse! Our room was exactly what we needed. Kitchen is beautiful and promoted great conversations with other guests. This town is an absolute MUST stop is you are driving the Ring Road. The drive here is incredible. I highly recommend putting you trust in this accommodation.

The property manager was very helpful. It has a shared common space with a kitchen and laundry which are a bonus. The rooms are small but clean. Only complaint is the blackout shades don't cover the whole window so bring eye masks if visiting during the summer.

We could see the nearby waterfall from our bed as we laid down. The staff were not on site but were very quickly available with a phone call. The town is wonderful and the El Grillo bar nearby was fabulous. We loved our experience in Seydisfjordur.

This is an amazing property at a charming town on the East of Iceland. It is very comfortable and convenient with a large fully equipped kitchen and laundry on site (the only place with laundry facilities during our trip). They were very helpful with extra requests. We are a family of four and they had a room with a queen bed and two bunk beds which is perfect for us. It was one of the best places to stay on our trip.

Seydisfjordur is a quiet fjord town on the northeast coast. Only 30 minutes to get there from Eglisstadir over a mountain pass. Beautiful drive. This property has more of Hostel feel. Spartan accommodations. Breakfast is provide your own.

The property was clean and fresh. Everything worked as it was intended. The host was friendly, helpful and accommodating. There were restaurants within easy walking distance. There was adequate parking for vehicles. The full kitchen was available for home cooked meals. The large clean windows provided great views of the outdoors. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely stay

We had a wonderful stay in Seydisfjordur on our tour around Iceland. The guesthouse was clean, the kitchen well equipped and the staff very nice and helpful. Everything in Seydisfjordur is within walking distance, including a much appreciated playground with a bouncing pad.

We loved our stay at Guesthouse PostHostel. I highly recommend this location if your going to be in the area. * the whole place was nice and clean. * the kitchen is VERY well stocked with lots of good quality dishes, bowls, pots and pans, dishwasher and large refrigerator (no freezer) * Excellent coffee machine which made expresso, lattes, and hot chocolate.

A little village I wished I had skipped!

This is a very nice hostel. Very clean as all other places here in Iceland. It has a relatively well equipped kitchen that you share with other guests. In it there is a coffee machine that provides different espresso based coffee drinks on demand which is a nice feature. Another very nice feature is that it has a washer and dryer for the guests to use which is a super good thing! The only negative thing about this hostel is that it does not offer breakfast! I would suggest first timers to Iceland to skip this very little village, Seydisfjordur, at the tip of a fjord. It is not because it is 45 minutes from the Ring Road but it really has very little to offer and it is very expensive to stay here over-night. I personally do not think it is worth the money nor time to go here. If I absolutely have to visit this little village in the fjord I w
