About this property
Enjoy a privileged stay in a 17th century palace
PALACE HOUSE SAN JOSÉ II Baroque Elegance with Private Gallery
A home with history in the heart of Seville's monumental district
In front of the Madre de Dios convent and in the epicentre of the historic centre, this 17th-century Baroque house rises, masterfully restored by architect Rafael Manzano, a reference in the conservation of the Royal Alcázares. Here, travellers experience the most authentic noble Seville, in a space where craftsmanship, heritage and contemporary comfort coexist with absolute naturalness.
San José II is part of the five apartments of the palace complex and pays tribute to the Sevillian cabinetmaker Francisco de Paula Farfán, born in this same house in 1869 and whose artisan legacy remains present in the rehabilitation.
The building: a living palace
Access via San José Street 7 leads to the hallway with a large wrought-iron gate, to the first courtyard and an open room that leads to the main porticoed courtyard, with Roman marble columns, fountains and lush terraces with pergolas.
Inside, a celebration of crafts: classic ceramics, noble woodwork, coffered ceilings and plaster mouldings that make each room a unique piece.
The apartment (125 m² private gallery-terrace)
Distributed around the main courtyard, this bright apartment combines generous proportions, high ceilings and noble materials —marble, wood, artisan ceramics— with a carefully curated contemporary Spanish style decoration.
125 m² interior
Private gallery-terrace of 25 m²
Additional access to landscaped terraces and upper solarium (over 180 m², shared use)
Three bedrooms, all with en-suite bathroom
Social zones
On the left side of the access, the independent kitchen opens up, fully equipped.
A corridor leads to the living-dining room, decorated with period Spanish pieces and modern furniture. This space, bright and welcoming, is perfect for reading, conversing or watching TV, and has a dining area for six diners. A toilet serves the daytime area.
The living room opens onto the glazed gallery-terrace, with sliding panels and views of the main courtyard, a corner full of calm and light where one can enjoy it at any time of the year.
Rest area
Master bedroom: 160x190 cm bed, noble wood headboard, spacious wardrobes, desk and full en-suite bathroom.
Bedroom 2: two 90x190 cm beds, built-in wardrobes, desk and en-suite bathroom.
Bedroom 3: identical layout to the previous one, also with en-suite bathroom.
Two of the bedrooms connect directly to the gallery-terrace.
The terraces of the Palace
On the third floor, one of the great attractions of Casa Palacio San José awaits:
an elevated garden full of vegetation, solarium with rain shower and corners to have breakfast or enjoy the sunset with views of the domes, bell towers and terraces of the Jewish Quarter. On this floor, the common laundry room is also located (washing machine, dryer and individual clotheslines).
The experience
From this privileged location 5 minutes from the Cathedral and the Giralda, and steps away from the Santa Cruz Quarter and Murillo Gardens you will be able to enjoy monumental, gastronomic and cultural Seville in a walk full of stimuli.
The building houses five independent apartments (San José I, II, III, IV and V), with a total capacity for 22 guests.
If you are travelling in a group, you can book several or even the entire palace.

Excellent property all around. The grounds were beautiful, the apartment was spacious and comfortable, with a lot of outdoor space to lounge around in. Location was perfect - near a lot of restaurants and attractions.
We enjoyed our 4-night stay- easy check-in process with an informative and friendly host to greet us. Bedrooms were quiet for sleeping and accommodations were as advertized. Great location to historical area, shopping and restaurants. Highly recommend this property that has modern amenities with historical charm.
The apartment is in an absolutely beautiful, historical building. The apartment itself is clean and spacious and the common areas add to the beauty and charm. The location is also fantastic.
A beautiful apartment in the best location near the Alfalfa restaurants and a short walk to the main tourist attractions. Very charming and professionally managed. Highly recommend!
We had an amazing stay at this beautiful property! The home was impeccably clean, well-equipped, and offered stunning views from the rooftop terrace. The host was incredibly responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. Perfect for a relaxing getaway! Highly recommend!
It was a great private quiet place for our family (6-73 yes age).
The en-suite for each bedroom was great and the terrace and patio spaces were lovely.
Thank you!
The host was welcoming and helpful. The property was as described. The old building had been updated without losing any of its charm. After being our exploring, it was wonderful to return to our comfortable and lovely accommodations.
My family had a great stay at this comfortable villa. It was close to everything, had some very cool historic common areas, and also it was great to have AC in the middle of the summer. Communication from the owners was easy and helpful. Very highly recommend. Just don't plan to drive much in the narrow streets of the historic district if you can avoid.

Location was excellent. Beautiful building and roof area for relaxing. Lift was great as travelling with elderly parents. Road was quiet and very easy to walk to main attractions. Communal spaces were lovely. Aircon worked very well. Kitchen was small but very well equipped. Didn't really use much, too many great places to eat out.
The location is excellent and worked really well for our family. I think generally there is a slight drain problem in Seville and this sometimes affected the apartment, however we had a marvellous time with everything in walking distance. Highly recommend.
My family stayed in this apartment over Christmas 2023 and had a most wonderful experience! The location is perfect - on a quieter street and short walking distance to the cathedral and alcazar and many fabulous restaurants. The apartment itself is exactly as it appears in the photos - it is truly beautiful and spacious. It was perfect for 5 of us. The property manager is also very good - someone was there to meet us when we arrived, and overall they were very responsive to every question we had (and we had a lot!). Will definitely stay here again when in Seville!
Our group: Boys 10 and 15; their two 50-something dads; 70-something grandma. We all loved this place. Enough room, enough bathrooms, located near places we wanted to go and memorable restaurants. The best part was to relax in such comfortable beauty. From the stunning courtyard to the bougainvillea-shaded rooftop garden sanctuary, everything has character and Moorish-influenced touches. Timeless. Historic. Welcoming. From interactions with the owners to the knowledgeable orientation from the woman who greeted us, all was done with grace and intelligence. And yes, thanks for the recommendation for flamenco in Triana. Highly recommend this place. I could live here for a year or ten, happily.
We were 3 couples that stayed for 4 nights. Great communication and service from the property management.
We were very excited about this property based on the listing. The courtyard is beautiful and having the communal rooftop deck was great. We were lucky that no one else staying used it, so it felt private.
The apartment itself was nothing special and in fact is due for a renovation based on the description. The living/dining space is very small for 6 people and 2 of the 3 bedrooms only have twin beds with no option to move together. Bathrooms & kitchens are tired and dated. While the home is historic, the 90s renovation is evident.
It can also be very noisy depending on who else is staying in the building as all the apartments open to the courtyard. There were kids crying and screaming very early in the AM during our stay and it sounded like they are in your unit.
While certainly not terrible it is definitely not worth the nightly rate given the other options in Seville.
This place was really charming and nice. Centrally located, safe and clean. Plenty of space for my family to relax from the heat and enjoy the patio. The hosts were great.
Excellent location and fabulous spacious apartment. The house was exactly shown as the pictures. We loved staying there and highly recommend it to anyone!
Exceeded our expectations … it was a lovely and quiet space and very close to all the major attractions - we loved our stay! Super easy check-in process and very responsive host! We highly recommend!
What a beautiful property. The location was easy to get
around the old part of the city. It was absolutely charming and would definitely stay there again. The AC was a blessed bonus!!!
