The staff was helpful and kind right as we entered the lobby. When for a recommendations for dinner they not only made reservations on our behalf, they wanted to make sure we got there and went out of their way to give us a photo of the place and drew a detailed map for us. The onsen was wonderfull. They had everything one could wish for. 3 bathes: outdoorish, indoor hot and indoor cold. They had all the creams and soaps one could need. Stayed two nights and it was perfect for me. The breakfast wasn't anything special, and the hotel itself is showing some wear and tear, but the room was clean and comfy and just what you'd expect from this kind of hotel.

Room was clean, comfortable and relatively spacious. Breakfast was very good and lots of options. Location was great. Train station, castle, canal road, mall and restaurants all in walking distance. Highly recommend.

Huge room, lot of amenities and delicious and cheap meals.

Let me start by saying if you’re looking for a high-end luxury resort this property is not it. The room was rather Spartan and the bathing facilities are shared and public (as in public to the hotel). That said the staff, even with their marginal language skills were amazingly accommodating, and the view from the top of the hill that this hotel sits on is unparalleled! It was a beautiful location in an amazing place that gave us tremendous opportunity to explore the entire area.

Great stay. Room had everything I needed & was clean/comfortable. Staff made hospitality clear even when our common vocabulary was limited. Close to shopping/dining/public transportation & also walkable. I extended my stay!

We stayed for four days and had a very enjoyable visit. We booked a double room, which was slightly on the small side, but it was very comfortable and had a wonderful view of the city. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and the outdoor hot baths were a real treat. The free shuttle bus to and from the station, which takes around 20 minutes, was really helpful.
