Our stay at the Banana Cabana was overall a fantastic experience. The grounds were nice and kept up, property was clean, kitchen was well stocked with utensils and pots and pans. The building itself is older and shows it's age in many places but suited our needs just fine. There's no dishwasher in the rental but a small bottle of dish soap was provided and was plenty for a weeks stay. There is a shared washer and dryer on site. Having a beach buggy, chair, cooler, chairs and umbrella was definitely a plus. Public access #10 was very close and an easy walk. Siesta village was also a close walk for shopping, grocery and restaurants. Check-in was as easy as it gets and staff were very nice and accommodating. Overall would definitely stay again.

Nice Cabana!
Nice cabana! We enjoyed our stay. The balcony is relaxing in the mornings and evenings. Beach is a quick walk away. Everything is clean and updated. Staff at Beachside Management is very friendly and helpful. They are always just a text away if anything is needed. Eating places are within walking distance. This is a great place to stay on Siesta Key!

Siesta key is a beautiful place and Banana Cabana is in the perfect location to the beach and the village. It is a beautiful property to stay at.

First of all the pictures are deceiving. This property is in serious need of renovation. Couch smelled like it had been picked up on the side of the road. Carpet under the couch is filthy. Parts of the flooring are held down with duc tape. Beds do not fit frames. Doors have gaps in them. You can hear everything out side the windows are so thin. The carpet in the bedrooms are so stained it’s hard to tell if they have ever been cleaned. There is a sign on the door about being quiet for your neighbors, yet the neighbors partied until 3:30 am. Balcony is so worn that it looks like it could cave in. We reached out to the management company when they asked us what we thought of our stay. We told them everything and we did not even get we are sorry you were disappointed. Beware if you think you are getting so merging nice. The location is nice but you cannot see the water at all.

Avoid this one if you want tv to watch.
The listing said basic cable but we could only get a few stations. The mgmt firm kept saying they were working on getting it fixed, when i called them, as they were not keeping me informed, then the last night they said we had all of the tv that the listing offered. DEFINITELY NOT. A hole in the bedroom floor needs repair, and the light in the bedroom ceiling fan did not work. Minimal light in the bedroom. We informed them of that too. I have been using Hotels.com for years, and this is the first time I have ever filed a complaint with them. I finally talked with a manager of the company handling the facility who said she would look into everything and she would definitely call me that night. She did not. I would avoid any facility handled by Beachside Management, as I will in the future.

Photos on web site are very deceiving. The small cottage you barely see in the picture is what we got and the photos of it are mixed in with the cabana photos, so you have no idea that you are getting a tiny, old cottage as your vacation home. Although it did sleep 5 as stated, the living room/ TV room only has room for three people and very basic TV channels, so forget about a family movie night if it rains. Kitchen was TINY with very small stove so, again, don't think about making dinner for 5. We manged to make breakfast daily but you can't use more than 2 small appliances like microwave, toaster, and coffee pot at the same time cause the lights will dim and almost blow out. The shower, also tiny, if you weigh more than 200 lbs, you can't move in it at all and if you're taller than 5'6" you can't shower without taking the head off the top and holding the spray with one hand which requires you to move your arms around. Dilemma!! The bathroom doesn't have any air flow so we had to rig the door open or it would get very hot. You have to keep all blind closed at all times of the very small air conditioners won't keep the house cool. No central AC, just 4 small units. To be fair in my review I do have to mention the things we liked: two blocks walk to beach, four beach chairs provided, one large cart to take to beach, four beach towels (and we found a bonus one in the closet), outdoor shower in back of house.

Photos and descriptions are deceiving. Need to just tell the truth.
We could not watch tv in the evening even with a hotspot. Photos and description of place is way off. More like a 15 minute walk to beach. Cottage was old and floor tore up. It is a good location but the cottage needs a lot of love and care put to it and it would be a lovely place to stay. Tell owner to invest in some decent furniture in bedrooms. Dresser drawers desperately need replacing with some new ones. Could not find a broom to sweep floors with. Too many appliances and window units on the electric currents cause the lights flicker all the time or went out then back on. Would not recommend cause there are other places more nicer and updated for the amount of money we spent here.
