Location is awesome. Property is nice. Keeping in mind it is an older, quaint, independent property on the CA coast - this place is great for a stay along a drive up/down the coast. It’s not fancy; however it has everything you need including a view!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! The value for the price was remarkable. The beach was directly across the street, and we even had a lovely view of it from our ground-floor room. It was exceptionally dog-friendly, which we really appreciated. There were poop-bag stations throughout the property, and the restaurant offered outdoor seating where dogs were welcome. They even brought our dog a bowl of water at the table—a thoughtful touch! We were also pleasantly surprised to receive an upgraded room and were given the choice of staying upstairs or downstairs. We would highly recommend this wonderful spot in San Simeon. It was a great value, in a fantastic location, and made traveling with our dog especially easy and enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again!

The staff was friendly and helpful. Great tips. I was traveling on my own and felt very safe. Hotel was very clean. I loved my ocean view. It was exactly what I expected and I would stay there again. I wish that smoking was not allowed so close to the hotel. I wanted to open my window and feel the ocean breeze but didn’t enjoy the waft of cigarette smoke from downstairs. And this was even at 7:45am

They have a car charger level 2 on site which is helpful for topping off before you head up into Big Sur if you own an EV. It's about a 5-minute walk to a beach and a beautiful sunset.

This is a good stay for 1 or 2 nights tops. I would not recommend beyond that. Cons: there is NO CEILING FAN, making the room very hot during the day if it's summer and it's hot outside, like we just experienced. If you open the window you do get a decent breeze but not good enough, and also you sacrifice privacy as other guests walk by your window somewhat frequently. The hotel provided a very tiny plug-in fan, to be honest kind of useless. Pros: Parking included and location is very good as in the middle of a lot of sight seeing areas like hearst castle and the lighthouse.

It is an older property that has been updated somewhat. One of the main down falls is that the rooms do not have A/C and only a portable fan to setup. So you have to open your patio door to get cool air in, along with outdoor noises, imcluding peoples outdoor conversations. But it was comfortable otherwise, close to the beach.

We did not end up staying here, we checked out right after check in. While the outside and lobby were clean and pretty standard, our room was musty, the bathroom sink had rust around the edge, walls had holes where light fixtures had been moved, water stains on the furniture, chairs had cracked fabric, and we were just uncomfortable with staying there. The staff was helpful with our checkout and decline. I do not recommend.
