コバエやハエがあんなに多いホテルは人生初めてです。
シャワールームから廊下いたるところに、ハエが群れていました。廊下や部屋には、常に香辛料の香りが漂い。キッチンで生活しているようでした。サンフランシスコの宿泊費高騰により仕方なく使うにしても、あまりにも厳しいです。

It is unfortunate that you were not satisfied with your stay. As for the food smell in the hallways, we keep the doors and windows open in the hallway for the day, and the smell travel as we have a variety of restaurants around us. As for the flies in the hallways, same, the windows and doors are open, there is no way to control that. Also, the cost of living in general is high in San Francisco. This is city is considered as one the most expensive city in the US. We hope your next lodging was of your liking.

一人旅で使わせていただきました。 スタッフはとても親切で助かりました。 駅には近いですが通りは貧困層が多いようでホールレスなどのにおいが気になりました。 しかし、1本西の通りに行けばとてもオシャレな店やレストランがあり、食べ物には困りません。 Wi-Fiは快適に使えました。トイレとシャワーが共同なのが気になる方がいるかもしれませんが 気にならない方にとってはとても快適なホテルです。

I knew this is a low end hotel in view of its price. I booked this one just because it is close to the Bart station. But when I came to the hotel I was shocked. It’s much lower than I expected. The property is so poor and surrounding areas are so terrible. I felt very unsafe when police not present especially at night. Bedding is old and dirty. I didn’t take off my clothes to sleep. At night I was so cold then had to use blanket covering the lower part of my body. The promised Wi-Fi didn’t work. I talked with the manager, she tried to fix but no use. Finally the Wi-Fi worked on 2nd day. The managers are nice but the property and amenities are really bad. I think Expedia shouldn’t have that low hotel on its list. I will never use it.

This hotel was not as advertised. I have never had to simply leave a hotel because I did not feel the area or space was safe. There were not private toilets, you have to share them with everyone on the floor. The front desk manager was very nice and I felt badly that I had to leave in such a rush, but it was a waste of money and I wish it had been advertised more honestly. The area as well has gotten very dangerous, which was very sad to see. I would not recommend this spot unless you are a man traveling alone looking for any room to crash in for one night or if you need housing for a few days.

Clean, Basic hostel
This is closer to a hostel with individual rooms. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. It is very basic, and does not have a/c. It was cool though, but I would have packed a small fan for air movement. Shared showers and bathrooms, which were also clean. I would recommend bringing ear plugs, as the walls are pretty thin. For the price, it was what expected.

I like that they offer water at the front. I was dissapointed with the shower because it was impossible to get a medium tempereture, it was boiling or freezing. I was also bummed out that at the time of my stay the microwave wasn't working but that seems minor. Over all great experience for the price.

This hotel is really just fine for what it is. I was a little bit disappointed that their wifi would not work, but this is really a minor criticism considering the price (and the facts that the staff are great and they keep the whole place nice and clean. Definitely a good value overall!

SUPER close to a BART stop for easy train terminal and airport access, extremely clean, the management seems to be very responsive. Great food options nearby. Neighborhood is rough, but if you can handle a city it’s absolutely fine. This is a fantastic cheap stay in San Francisco and I’ll be back.

The staff is very nice, but the hotel is in a dangerous neighborhood, the sheets were stained, the window didn’t lock, the shared bathrooms were dirty. If you are hoping for a reasonably clean place to stay do NOT stay here!

Spartan, small rooms, shared bathroom. Plenty of restaurants coffee houses etc near by. A few homeless close by. Parked overnight around the corner, on 17th st, nothing happened . Pretty good but wouldn't bring kids here.

The hotel was nice and really affordable, really great staff. Nothing wrong with the place itself especially for the price but San Francisco is just a really gross place in most parts. Convenient as well though it’s right next to the BART station which makes getting around without a car really easy and affordable.

Union Hotel is in the heart of the Mission. The area around it is a little rough, but the hotel is safe, clean and quiet. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and this is the best spot I’ve found in the city for affordable rooms.

We arrived in the hotel with a bit of a problem, as our luggage was lost on our way to San Francisco. The hotel manager, Steve, was incredibly helpful and kind to us. He even offered us his phone so we could call the airline. The hotel itself is OK. The room is quite small and the bathroom facilities are to be shared with other guests. Everything was clean and tidy however. We didn’t experience any noise or trouble. The only downside is the location of the hotel, as it’s right in the center of mission district where a lot of homeless people have gathered. We didn’t feel unsafe, but it did feel a bit uncomfortable at times. To summarize: Steve is awesome and his hotel is nice. You get what you pay for.

Hotel très propre et personnel très accueillant et serviable. Vu les prix modérés il y a quelques petits inconvénients pour certains. Il n'y a pas d'ascenseur ni de douches et sanitaires privatifs. Mais les douches et sanitaires communs sont continuellement très propres. J'ai beaucoup aimé la localisation de l'hôtel, même si certains pourraient être gênés par la présence de nombreux sdf dans le quartier. Il y a beaucoup d'options de restauration dans le quartier. Je retournerais volontiers à cet hôtel.

Not a hotel for handicapped
We arrived at the Hotel (after driving in a cab twice around the block not even seeing the sign) and there were homeless people lying on the streets. We buzzed to get into the hotel and had to walk up to the next floor to see the desk behind barriers. I asked where our room was - and it was on the very top floor (no elevator or bellhops). I was handicapped - and there was no way we could carry our luggage up 4 flights of narrow stairs - so at least the person at the desk gave us our money back with no hassle.

Smelled horrible, loud people, never stay here again, don't recommend book a real hotel instead also avoid Airbnb unless you like drama. They also wanted to treat me like a prisoner near the end of my stay, saying I was going up and down the stairs to go vape too often, they wanted to restrict me to my room to only come out every 2 hours, I reported that to the police department and hopefully there will be an investigation.

I think you might have a misunderstanding with the place you trying to review. You stayed with us previously at Union Hotel and if you disliked this place why you book again and stayed with us.

Well it was clean for one, second the manager was nice and even warned me of some of the dangerous areas to avoid in San Francisco. I left a couple days early, they gave no refund for me leaving early which I know some hotels have a policy on that, that's ok. Their weekly/monthly rates are too expensive in my opinion, I hope their aware they are charging almost what a private studio would cost for their monthly rates I believe it was somewhere in the region of $1700-1750/MO I know it's SF but maybe drop that by a couple hundred I'd reconsider. There was wifi although I never used it, there was a TV that actually worked, a faucet in the room and showers/bath that are shared outside of the room. If your just looking for a relatively safe area in SF to spend some time or work related trip I'd recommend checking this place out for a couple of days.

It is unfortunate that you were not satisfied with your stay. The description are stated clearly in the website that this is a hotel with private rooms and shared bathrooms, as well there are photos of the rooms we provide with the size as well. Majority of hotels in San Francisco are not like hotels/motels in other states. Here in SF hotels have their old architecture design.

Great value, clean, and friendly!
I needed a place to stay in the area to help a friend. The hotel is clean, and the staff is friendly. This hotel is a great option if you are on a budget. I would not recommend this location if you need a car. Parking is difficult and the garage nearby is not safe. My car was broken into during my stay at the garage around the corner.

Room temp was set to ‘Coldest’ setting, and there was nothing you could do. Upon telling the lone staff in an encaged front desk, she was dismissive and uncaring. Will never stay there again
