The room had a stove, oven, microwave, cutlery, bowls and plates. It was like a mini suite! Clean too! Would stay there for any local event

Stayed several times at both places owned by same owners, one in old town and this one by the college. A wonderful staff wonderful continental breakfast. Grounds keepers have been there for 20 years plus. That should tell you how well they are treated by owners. Rooms are spotless and affordable!! Yes affordable. Looking forward to many more stays in the future.

got a room for a night for my family for graduation, very nice people, rooms are pretty spacious and was quick trip from campus. definitely would come back if in the area!

Very nice stay for 2 nights. The breakfast options were great and the front desk staff was very pleasant and extremely nice to let us exhausted travelers check in 2 hours early!

We had a wonderful stay. Front desk was very personable, room was clean, property was quiet. The parking was a little tight, that’s the only slightly negative review I have. We will be back!

Always friendly professional staff. Well maintained motel where owners seem to have pride in property. Sadly, the room had a smell even though I could tell how hard the hotel had worked to clean that smell up from some previous occupants. Fortunately, because of the cleaning we were able to overcome the smell and remain in the room.

Front desk was welcoming and polite. Our room was clean and ready to go. Breakfast was ample the next day; not just danishes and juice, there were waffles, oatmeal, bagels, you name it! Less than 10 minutes away from SDSU.

A very well-run hotel. service was excellent, the rooms were very clean and in good condition. The attention to detail in the rooms was a pleasant surprise. For a modest price, the little things such as good pillows and nice towels make a difference.

We stay at Lamplighter at least 1x per month when we’re visiting San Diego. The service is great, price is reasonable, and the pool is sparkly and warm.

The staff was very attentive and courteous, but the walls were very thin. I could hear the person in the next room talking and snoring. The rooms are a nice size though.

Small hotel. Rooms are dated. No elevator. Only stairs which I did not realize and I have a bad knee. Rooms were not ready at check in time. Staff was great and did the best they could.

The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly and welcoming. The location to visit my daughter at SDSU was absolutely perfect. Lots of restaurants and facilities near by. The room keys didn’t work all the time but the front desk staff was great and helped out.
