Reluctant

I’m reluctant to give a good review because this is our go-to place to stay in San Antonio for business. We love this place and the property owners have always been prompt and kind.

Very Comfortable House

Very nice getaway house with lots of nice features which contribute to a homey feel to the residence. The owner even had a Christmas tree arranged with treats in the refrigerator which made for a very kind greeting. The hot tub was great!

Our group had a good time visiting San Antonio and this rental was perfect for location. We drove to six flags, Fredericksburg, the river walk a couple times, and many nice restaurants. The house itself was clean, the property owners are very quick to respond when asking questions, Thank you Jack for all your help and Kathy for the fast response time. Would definitely stay here again.

This is the place to stay!

This was my first experience renting on VRBO. We were drawn to this property because of the pictures and the location. I have a large family with kids ranging from 4 to 17 so a hotel was not going to cut it. The home was clean, nicely decorated, and the layout was perfect. It was nice to not only have a home base, but an actual home to relax in at the end of the day. Communication with the owner was fantastic. This set the bar high for all other places we may end up staying.

Filthy property

Host needs to get new cleaning service. Filthy property. Dead roaches underneath sofa chair in living room. Roaches in up stairs bedroom. Pillow given to host/owner had blood stains, discovered when we were changing sheets. Furnace had NO filter! Had to ask host/owner to install filter. Had to ask Host to mow yard and blow leaves. Cob webs in numerous locations. Dirt sweep under rug in den. Garage had numerous dead bugs and excrement. Host/owner was quick to come over on numerous issues such as TV working and changed out washing machine. Would have moved out, but for recent surgery. We were looking for extended stay property to return every year. This is not it.

Excellent Home Away from Home

Thank You for the hospitality. We were greeted the night of check in after a long day. Landlord set up the hot tub in case we wanted to relax, left us with some snacks in the frig and coffee for the mornings. The house was clean and comfy. We had 9 adults in the family, we had plenty of space that no one ever felt over crowded, the pictures do not give this home justice. This home has a lot of character. We fell in love with this home after the first night. The neighborhood was very quiet. Very convenient to everything even downtown. Thank you for the accommodations, it was better than a hotel with plenty of spacious room. We definitely recommend this home and will stay again if ever in San Antonio.

Not what we hoped for

We were on a three generation girls trip to visit a friend to celebrate her 60th birthday. We didn't arrive at the house until nearly 1am. Much to my shock my mother emerged from the downstairs bathroom advising that she had picked up some dead and one slow moving bug. She then told me the toilet was dirty. While she was cleaning the bathroom, I went into the kitchen to find a large nearly dead bug crawling slowly across the floor. There were lots of crumbs on the shelves of the fridge and some substance dripping on the door that may have been chocolate syrup. I contacted the host the next morning about the bugs. She responded quickly and apologized. She advised the home had been sprayed recently. Being from the south, I know it can be impossible to keep bugs out, but the house should have been checked after being sprayed and should have been thoroughly cleaned. As it was, we each spent time cleaning our respective bathrooms, including taking down and washing a shower curtain whose bottom 6 inches were covered in pink mold. Due to the issues none of us felt comfortable being in the house except to sleep, which was a shame, because we got the house so that we could enjoy spending family time together there. The home is older as someone mentioned, but it would be a lovely place to stay after a deep cleaning. The host was very kind and even left breakfast items in the fridge, but given the circumstances we did not feel comfortable cooking or even eating there. Had we been in a hotel, rather than a prepaid VRBO, we would have left. The host indicated that she used a new cleaning service and would not be using them again. The house was spacious with a great layout. Access to the property was easy. The location was convenient. The neighborhood was quiet, and we felt safe. There was a personalized welcome note from the host, and she was very responsive. There just wasn't alot she could have reasonably have done to rectify the problems in the short timeframe we were there.

Excellent location

We rented this property for its location. We attended a wedding at The Veranda. This property was 3 miles away. And it is close to the airport. Everything was in good order with complementary toiletry items. Jacuzzi was in good working condition. The only thing I would recommend is providing more towels; otherwise, it was a nice place to stay. Thanks for the warm welcome.

comfortable house with good location

We were in San Antonio for a construction project. We rented the house for 4 of us. All of us enjoyed the house and the close proximity to our job. The owners were great and lived nearby. A?C worked great and the beds were comfortable to us. Couches in the den were nice. We would have stayed in the house longer but it was unavailable by the time we knew we needed more time. I would stay here again.

Family Fun in and around this spacious house.

This was the perfect space for our family to have an extended weekend of fun. When we we were out and about we appreciated the close proximity to Chicken and Pickle and Papasitos Mexican Bar snd Grill just to name a few. While relaxing at the house we enjoyed complimentary coffee and toiletries; 3 full bathrooms stocked with plenty of fluffy towels and toilet paper. Thanks, Kathy, for such a clean and comfortable house.
