This house was perfect. First of all, it was spotless. Everything was clean, and comfortable. The bedrooms were very nice, comfortable beds, cozy living room and nice kitchen. It felt like you were stepping back in time in this house in every way with the exception of modern convenience. the air conditioners kept the place cool, but they were silent. The bathroom was super clean and the shower was excellent. Over all a great house that is super cute and so great because it was built in 1739.
The location though may be the best part. It is one block from the House of the 7 Gables, which is amazing. We wnet for the tour and it was completely worth it. Our 10 year ols and 13 year old both agree that tour was possibly the best thing we did on our vacation, which also included visiting the beaches of Cape Cod, go carts, kayaking and a dozen other awesome things and the tour of a 17th century historical landmark house was at the top of their list. You have to take the tour to see why, it's very interesting. We think our tour guide Stephen really made it memorable. His story telling brought us right back to the year 1700. Salem is a beautiful city, with extremely interesting things to see and do and this house really sets the stage for the stay. I am trying to get my friends and family to go stay there.
