I wanted so much to love this little apartment. We were in contact with the owner throughout the day of our arrival. We gave him an approximate time that we would be there. When we arrived, there was a person there to meet. He was very kind and he showed us the property. He did not, however, put on the air conditioning before we got there, even though he lives in the same complex as the apartment. It was so hot in there that it was hard to breathe. For the life of me, I don’t understand why she didn’t have the air conditioning on hours before our arrival seeing that it was in the mid 90s that day. We stayed in the apartment one night, but the beds were so uncomfortable that we had a hard time sleeping in the apartment was so hot that it wasn’t enjoyable. The sheets had a chemical smell to them. I have never left VRBO before, but we just couldn’t stay there. We left the next day and booked a room at the Marriott. I wrote an email to the owner who said that he agreed that the air conditioning should’ve been on and he was willing to buy mattress toppers, new sheets, and new towels. He also told us that if we gave him a time of arrival, he would make sure that the air-conditioning was on and that the apartment was cool. I did appreciate that, but at that point we had paid for the hotel and could not get our money back. I did not ask for any type of refund and he did not offer a refund. I am upset, though that he didn’t pay me back the tax money for my stay!
