「Excellent spot for a home base for exploring the island. Located in a quieter urban area with a good amount of local amenities. Close to the supermarket/restaurants/town center and the Beach is a 2 minute walk. Parking right across from the building. The apartment has everything you need and then some if you're planning on cooking your meals. Having a coffee on the patio was a nice way to start the day as well. Honestly, its a hidden gem of a spot.」

「My wife and I are easy and didn’t mind the lack of A/C but you cannot leave the windows open because of the bright lights, loud traffic, and moist air. Even when we did leave the windows open there is not much wind to speak of in Furnas so it didn’t help. Had there been at least a floor fan to provide some circulation of air it would have made for a much better sleep and stay. Otherwise the place was as described, clean, close to everything and the host was available. 」

「Casa do Contador had character, beauty, AND comfort. The breakfast especially was a fantastic experience, delivered to our room each day in a traditional wicker basket. We've never experienced anything like it! The staff were friendly and helpful, and recommended a really great tour to the east of San Miguel Island. The bed was comfortable, the kitchenette had everything we needed ... No notes! We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.」
