Clean and tidy. Comfortable bed. slight wait for cooked breakfast, but they were busy. Shame there isn't more parking, but there was a free car park near by for weekend visitors.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, stayed in Room 3 which was a twin room for me and my daughter. Great location, nice a quiet. Would stay again.

Spot On

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Great location for access to Redcar and for walking along the beach. Nice and quiet , newly decorated comfortable hotel - great breakfast, overall very pleased with my choice.

Had a lovely stay at the Claxton, the staff are very helpful and friendly, make you feel like you are the only one staying there

Somewhat disappointing

Disappointed at lack of on site parking. ‘Free parking’ as stated in the blurb was not strictly true. The makeover of rooms was ok. But they have tried to cram too many into a small hotel. As elsewhere under pressure due staff shortages

Lovely stay in traditional seaside hotel.

Excellent one night stay. Staff all very friendly and welcoming. Very enjoyable stay, would definitely recommend The Claxton.

Very nice little break

We had a deluxe room with a sea view which was very nicely presented and very clean, everything we needed for our short stay. We were attending a wedding locally and phone ahead prior to arrival, the team were kind enough to have our room ready early so we could change - very accommodating.

Pleasant hotel, very friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Only down side was the creaky floorboards from the room above mine which made sleep a little trickier than it should have been.

Lovely Guesthouse!

The service was excellent, The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay pleasant. The breakfast they serve set us up for the day!

We apologise that this was a problem for you but if you let us know in advance that stairs are a problem we have eleven ground floor bedrooms to alleviate this problem. Staff are always happy to assist with luggage up and down stairs. We hope it didn’t spoil your stay and hope to see you in the future.

Stayed here for 1 night and it was a good place to stay. The welcome was nice, the room was clean and modern with a great view of the sea. The breakfast included was very good too.

The property is very clean and the staff are courteous. Vegan and full English breakfast with a choice of cereals, tea, coffee and fruit juices is very good. Our double room with a sea view and en-suite facilities was faultless. Parking is very limited and WiFi in our room was non existent. Having said that, we would not hesitate to book another stay here.

It’s a proper hotel not a pub trying to be a hotel. We recommend the claxton and intend to return on our next visit to Redcar. 10/10.

If they put you on the top floor, forget having a shower. it takes 5 mins for the hot water to come through then it was too slow, in the morning the flow was that barely of a slow tap. Staff were great, breakfast was great, Pint of beer was double the price of the pub in the high street ( 3 min walk )

Best place to see Redcar

Great location - 10 seconds from promenade. The new accommodation toward the rear is modern, clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly.
