The Fox Den was the perfect long weekend getaway for a wintery February vacation. Jeanne and Jim couldn't have made it more welcoming, the gas fireplace was lit and soft decorative lights and fresh greens and flowers welcomed us when we arrived. It was cozy and bright at the same time, with the couch and chair arranged around the fireplace, and two large French doors on either side of the fireplace bringing in beautiful light to the kitchen and sleeping ends of this wonderful studio.
The Fox Den is immaculate, and well stocked with coffee, pancake mix, various spices and cooking oils - even some movie time snacks for relaxing in front of the fire. Cooking utensils and pots, pans and even baking pans are available. The bathroom is beautiful and well stocked with soaps and towels.
There are two small closets for guest use.
The accommodations are very private, you would never know Jeanne and Jim are upstairs unless you reach out to speak to them. The view of the lake is gorgeous, and we look forward to returning in the summer to take advantage of paddling and fishing on the lake and hiking the trails on the 20 acre property. There is a lot to do in the Red Hook and Rhinebeck areas, too, and lots of local dining options if you don't want to cook... though that is a pleasure in this well appointed kitchen!
We had a wonderful stay.... we highly recommend the Fox Den!
