We had a wonderful start to our trip in Costa Rica at Korrigan Lodge. We landed in San Jose around 1:00 and made it here by evening. The hosts were very accommodating and served a wonderful breakfast each morning. They offered great recommendations of activities and food in the area. The lodge provided an authentic atmosphere with the perks of WiFi and a comfortable space. It was a great start to our trip!

Korrigan Lodge From the moment we booked our stay, Patrick and Irena were there answering all our questions and keeping in touch with us until we arrived. It was a long, long journey for us to get there, but it was well worth it. The room was beautiful and completely surrounded by nature. Just like the photos and exactly what we hoped for. We loved all the jungle sounds (howler monkeys, birds, crickets, frogs and more) and the very comfortable firm bed. The place was absolutely spotless and bug free inside. (Lots of cool bugs and creatures outside!) The fan above the bed kept the place cool enough for us. No a/c required :). The bathroom was beautiful and my boyfriend really enjoyed the hot showers :) The mini fridge was handy as were the bicycles, beach towels, and all the brochures and advice! The breakfasts were works of art created with love. The wide variety of fresh Fruits and homemade yoghurt were the best I have ever had. We also had some fresh bread and jam, and eggs and cheese and of course coffee, every day. We were just a short walk to the beautiful sandy beach with good snorkelling and swimming. There was so much to see and do, we wished we could stay longer. We were there for 10 days in November 2019. Patrick and Irena were so genuine and caring, we felt like family. I highly recommend this lodge if you want a quiet get away, with just a short drive into the Reggae village if Puerto Viejo. I look forward to going back!

Two Kind Hearts, One Beautiful Lodge

While my long awaited trip to Korrigan Lodge was cut entirely too short, there is no way for me to fully express my gratitude to Patrick and Irena. The thoughtfulness and genuine care they have put into the oasis they have created was evident to me upon first sight, but what I will never forget is their heartfelt desire to see that every visitor to Korrigan Lodge will leave feeling better than when they arrived. Patrick and Irena, I will be back......thank you sooo much for being true to Costa Rica's true beauty, people like the two of you!! Love, from Phil.

My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon at Korrigan Lodge and had a fantastic time there. Patrick and Irena are true characters, and so lovely and caring. The Lodge is very well looked after and they do endeavor to create a bit of a community atmosphere with the intimacy of only four lodges during breakfast and coffee/tea time later in the day. The free bicycles are really useful, as is the fridge in the room. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room was filled with flowery touches when we checked in. We had to leave very early (6am) to take the Interbus to the airport and Patrick and Irena ensured we had a "doggy bag" of a breakfast to take with us. We definitely did not expect that and it was a sweet gesture. Patrick and Irena come across as free-spirits but clearly take hospitality very seriously and excel at it as a result. I'd happy return and recommend them to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Perfect

Perfect, perfect, perfect, perfect!!! Amazing place, in a jungle, across the best beaches in the Caribbean coast. Rooms are beautiful and the homemade breakfast is 10 stars, both the food quality and the service. Above all, Patrick and Irena are great hosts with a big heart and will make your vacation unforgettable.

Gem of the Costa Rica Caribbean

The lodge was set back from the road in a beautiful tropical jungle setting. It is easy walking distance to the beach (5 min), and a nice 20 minute bike ride to Manzanillo National Park. The bungalows are beautifully maintained, comfortable, and surprisingly cool with the large ceiling fan! The breakfast included with your stay is delicious, and presented so uniquely. You will awake every morning to the sounds of the jungle wildlife all around you. We are now spoiled and will only stay here when come back to Costa Rica. Highly recommend!!

It's Eden run by an expat couple that are very warm and oh, so welcoming. Service was impeccable. The 4 (that's all!) casitas build for couples are first-rate in design, upkeep and amenities, with a pleasing mix of luxury and rustic appeal and decorated with local flowers here and there. It is hard to describe the charm and positive energy of this place. Maybe a craftsman boutique B & B eco-lodge? At night it was like living in the deeps of a jungle, with plenty of exotic "music" from the animals. Did I mention BREAKFAST? OMG. It too was fabulous and different each morning as you wish: crepes, homemade yogurt with granola, or eggs any style (all included in daily rate). The Beach? Playa Punta Uva and others are steps away as is a wonderful Italian restaurant. We are ambivalent about telling the world of this magical place, lest it become hard to book when we seek to return, which is inevitable.

Perfect!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Korrigan lodge. The owners are friendly, and know the area. The main thing is I was able to relax and enjoy a great vacation. The lodge was very clean and had nice wooden features. I would definitely recommend.

Es war traumhaft! Irena und Patrick sind wundervolle Gastgeber! Sie haben uns sehr herzlich empfangen, immer super beraten und waren bei Fragen jederzeit für uns da! Korrigan Lodge is one of the most unique places I have stayed. The property is beautiful, the breakfast is delicious, and Irena and Patrick are so kind. They helped me book transportation from San Jose and gave great advice on restaurants and tours in the area. As a solo traveller, this experience was incredible. I saw lots of wildlife (including monkeys and sloths!), spent lots of time on the beach, visited the Jaguar Rescue Center and a local chocolate shop. The mornings were the best - so peaceful and filled with great conversation. Then at the end of each day, I knew I would come back to a comfortable lodge for a great sleep. Thank you for your hospitality!

Espectacular hotel a 5 minutos andando de Punta Uva, para nosotros la mejor playa de Limón. El entorno es mágico y salvaje e incluso pudimos ver un oso perezoso a escasos metros. Very cute place but very over priced for what they have to offer. Staff are in your face so it is impossible to have a relaxed stay. No toiletries, just some soap on the wall. Bathroom has no door. The beauty is listening to the monkeys at night

Beautiful and peaceful

My husband and I only got to spend 2 nights here at the end of our vacation but it was a wonderful way to finish a trip. The owners were warm, wonderful, attentive hosts. Everyone there went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. The cabina was lovely and the bed was comfy. The breakfast they provided was ample and tasty. We tried fruits we had never heard of before! I loved waking up to the howler monkeys and birds! It was a wonderful experience and I would definitely stay again!!
