The property itself was perfect for our needs - it had 3 bedrooms each with it's own bathroom, a full kitchen, common area, and small private pool.
We arrived very early before checkin but the manager met with us to store our bags on the property, and even took us to get some coffee at the local bar. His communication was good.
The property came with a housekeeper who would clean the entire property while we were out during the day. She was very nice and helped rummage up some full size umbrellas for us during the rainstorms we experienced.
We liked the location, but we all like walking and it's a walk to the beach / city center. You will get a workout on the long stairways living here, though of course you can catch the local bus which is easy as the property is right on the loop. What we liked about the location is the view, and also proximity to a bus stop, bar, post office, pharmacy, corner store, grocery store, and some local restaurants.
There were some significant negatives. The first were that one of the rooms had a mold and sewer-like smell. The occupants of this room felt the air was unsafe but just sort of endured it. When their door was open we could detect the smell emanating from the room, and any housekeeper or manager would know that there is a problem there. The occupants of another room reported the bed to be extremely hard, with one of them having bruises on each hip from sleeping. The 3rd room had no problems.
Another "issue" is that in the housekeeping service is paid for by the guests as an extra fee, but instead of this being listed in the VRBO cost section, it is buried in the description of the property. This fee came as a surprise to us. Yes, it is technically in the long description of the property, but it's the first property any of us had ever stayed at that had a fee in the text rather than the VRBO cost section and we thought it felt a bit dishonest.
So overall we had a mixed experience.
