  • The California Condor was a common sight along the Columbia River in Lewis and Clark's day. By the early 1980's, there were only twenty-two left on the face of the planet, all in California. Today, thanks to a massive effort to re-populate the species via in-captivity pairing, there are some two-hundred members. But their recovery is far from assured. The Oregon Zoo has undertaken its own recovery effort whose ultimate goal is the re-introduction of the species into the protected wilderness area around the Columbia River Gorge. In short, to bring them home. For now, they live out their days in a vast, outdoor aviary designed specifically to mimic their habitat in the wild. If you have never seen one up close before, I urge you to come take a look. They are larger than any flying bird you will ever see, unless you go to Peru. And though black and white practically from head to toe, their plumage shines and reflects the light like dark, polished metal. If that doesn't suit your fancy, I will tell you that, as with all big birds, if you wait around long enough, they will do something so awe-inspiring that it will take your breath away, and something so goofy that you will laugh out loud. First vacation!

The rental was awesome, cheap, and we loved the late checkout. The blinds in the bedroom and living room were difficult to navigate and didn’t seem to work very well, but we made do. The hot tub was lovely and the lights were a nice touch. Overall my partner and I had a wonderful stay and will be back again I’m sure,

The living space is warm and welcoming, with tasteful decor that made us feel right at home. Each of the three bedrooms is well-appointed. The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring we all had restful nights after our adventures.One of the standout features of this rental is the hot tub. After a long day of exploring Portland, there’s nothing quite like soaking in the warm water while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The outdoor space is lovely as well, offering a serene environment for relaxation.Additionally, the ping pong table added a fun element to our stay. We spent several evenings challenging each other to friendly matches, making it a memorable part of our trip.The location is also a significant advantage. This place matched the listing. Comfortable, and a good value. The rules are a little much in terms of the way they are phrased, but the space was comfortable enough for a weekend. I would stay here again.
