nice property and no surprises. great location both to beach and to two nearby quaint cities. TV and wifi worked well. very nice high ceiling and ocean views.
Great location near the Trading Post (grocery) and shops. Location is great for a quiet stay right on the gulf. The unit could use some cleaning in the kitchen and bathroom, but overall it was nice stay! The views are great and you are steps from the beach. Further down the beach towards the state park is a bigger space on the beach, but perfect for a small group (just not a huge beachfront). The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had all the appliances and necessities. Easy check in and out procedures.
We have stayed in this unit multiple times now. Location is GREAT and great views! Super close to the beach - a matter of feet. The unit is always clean and well stocked. The owner is always good to work with. Cannot wait for our next visit.
We stayed here 3 nights and had a wonderful time, fantastic views and boardwalk to beach is right at property. Close to the trading post and ice cream shop for any essential and non essential items (ice cream!) overall a wonderful relaxing experience!
We had a great week. The property was perfect for what we were hoping for on our fall break. It was clean, in good condition, and we were very pleased.
Amazing location for a quick walk to the beach. Amazing view of beach/ocean. The place was well furnished and up to date. Owner was super friendly when I called. Will try to book again on the next trip down!
The place is easy to find. Unit is on the second floor with great views of the gulf from every room. The unit is nicely furnished and the beds were comfy. Getting to the beach is easy and less than 30 seconds I'd say. The 2 general stores arewiyhin a half mile

Nice but Property Needs Updating
The location of the property is right next to the ocean. You could hear the ocean waves from your bedroom window, which was really cool. The updates that have been done to the property were nice. However, the properties kitchen needs an overall. Also there were places throughout the property that needed a deep clean, specifically in the bathrooms. Overall not the worst or the best place I've stayed at.
My daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights. Loved the place and LOVED how close to water we were. I would advise to stop at grocery store prior to getting to Cape San Blas.
Visited State Park and took a day to go to St.George Island. Loved shops on Main St of Port St.Joe
If you like the absence of fast food joints everywhere and few people you’ll love this place.
I loved this location!
The location is amazing just steps from the beach, with views of the water from every window! Sunsets are amazing! Very clean and family friendly! The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils. It was a nice surprise to have hand soap, dish soap and detergent, toilet paper, paper towel roll and even some laundry detergent accessible! Plenty of towels and linens provided! We had so much fun as a family of 4 here! We can’t wait to stay again!
Part of our family was in town for a weekend wedding and we wanted to be right on the beach. This was a perfect spot for our party of four, one adult with three kids. Coffee on the deck listening to the waves was wonderful, and the kids enjoyed going down to the beach and hanging out. Not far at all to downtown St. Joe, and very close to a convenience store on the cape for any little item you may have forgotten. Upon arrival, we had a quick question and the owner responded promptly and was very kind and helpful. Overall, a very nice stay and we would definitely visit again.
My 13 year old daughter and I had the BEST week here! Literally everything about this property was perfect…I can’t say that I have any complaints or concerns at all. I appreciated the beach chairs and big umbrella; there were also sand toys and a small cooler in the laundry room...Dave literally thought of everything!
The beach was never crowded; in fact, all 6 days we were there, there was never more than a dozen other people out. I absolutely love this location and look forward to my next vacation!!
Pros-Property was in a great location near the beach
Neat, clean, and well equipped
Comfortable bed
Cons- Lots of stairs to get to the unit
Windows in living/dining area need blinds badly!
Fixes- The shower in the master bath is leaking
The wall/door facing the ocean creaks and rattles loudly in high wind.
Overall- not bad, not sure we would return but really appreciate the stay, thank you!
We had another fantastic week at the cape and by far this was the best home we stayed at. The home (specifically the kitchen) is somewhat outdated, but the price reflected that so the value was great and the finishes of the home didn’t bother me whatsoever. The view is breathtaking and being able to see the ocean from pretty much every room in the home can’t be beat. The only criticism was that the home was not exceptionally clean, but I feel that some of that comes with the territory of being right on the beach… or maybe some things were just overlooked.
Overall, we had a fabulous time and would book again. The property manager was super kind and helpful. Thanks so much!!!
Things don’t always go perfectly, but as long as they are resolved, it’s OK. It was close to 10 PM when we arrived. We found that the unit had not been cleaned. It would have been better if communication responses with the manager could have been received before we went to sleep for the evening, but it was late and I was doubtful I would hear anything. I thought we were going to have to sleep in the vehicle, but we found clean sheets and were able to replace the ones on the bed. The cleaner was able to come out the following afternoon and did an excellent job. To make up for the issue , the manager offered an extra night, which we were able to accept. We enjoyed our stay and would consider this place again.
LOVED this place! Ships and Giggles exceeded my expectations! The views were amazing and the sunsets were extraordinary! The house itself has four units and shared decks which wasn't an issue for us, but may be for those who want privacy. The unit itself was just like the pictures and very nice. The kitchen had just about everything needed to prepare your meals. There is hardly any light pollution so being on the deck at night, you can see an unbelievable amount of stars! I saw several shooting stars every night of our stay! We could watch the dolphins playing from inside as well as on the deck. It only takes a minute to get to the beach and there are two acess points. There was beach chairs and toys to use in the laundry room, which was a nice touch. I love Cape San Blas and have always wanted to stay here! The sea turtles were the first thing to bring me to the area, but the beauty and tranquility of the area was the icing on the cake! I love that it is not the usual tourist trap, but quiet and laid back. I cannot wait to come back!!
Ships and Giggles was the perfect getaway for our young family. I must say location was the most significant factor that led to the incredible experience. The beach is literally 20 seconds walk from the bottom of the stairs. The unit is great. Had everything we needed, with exception of a blender. Had to bring our own as the owner mentioned a previous guest had taken it. The lockable owner’s closet down near the parking garage has all kinds of beach related gear which we really appreciated. It also houses the washer and dryer so it is a walk down from the unit to use these. However, this lends to the decently large square footage of the unit, which we found to be very spacious. The porch Is the nicest of all in the building. Simple but comfortable and has the best view of the ocean. Dave, the owner was promptly responsive and helpful with information on the area. We are looking at booking this same unit for next year.
The location of this unit is so great; just a few steps to the sand! The views from inside as well as on the back porch are beautiful.
Overall, the unit met our needs and we enjoyed our stay. It was clean and well decorated, and there were plenty of towels. The kitchen needs major TLC; new countertops and cabinetry. The secondary bathroom shower also needs attention; shower handle was extremely finicky and was hard to turn on/adjust temperature and The water pressure was really bad. There is no overhead lighting in the unit (or ceiling fans which would be nice) so you have to use lamps in bedrooms/living room which do not produce enough light. There are a few wall lights in kitchen/dining and bathroom, but they have amber colored bulbs in them which do not produce very good light at all; very dim/orange.
With just a couple more updates, this unit would be perfect. Even still, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay.
The good things about this unit, it sits steps from the beach, has lovely views of the surf from multiple windows, it is very open with great lighting, great seating for reading or watching TV, nice dishwasher, stove and refrigerator, lovely dinnerware. The bad things, although the listing says everything is new, there were many things not in good shape. The counters in the kitchen are in desperate need of replacing. I misread the description, thought it said there was stainless steel cookware to use. The cookware is all nonstick and well worn. If I had known that, I would’ve brought my own pots. One of the instructions is to refill the Britta water filter, I’m not sure what happened to it, but there was no such filter. We did drink the tap water and it was fine, but for those people who would like to have a water filter, you need to bring your own. The shower curtain in the master bath needs to be replaced, it’s not clean. The shower nozzle in the master bath drips, so you have to leave it off of the connection dripping down into the Drain. The mattress is soft in the master bedroom, the listing said it was new, but the side closest to the door felt hollowed out like you were sleeping in a little low spot. That’s a matter of preference, we prefer a firmer mattress, this one was soft. Lamps in the sitting area did not have switches, not usable. For a unit that was recently remodeled per description, there were a lot of things in need of repair.
Great views and beach access . Very comfy bed . Kitchen had all we needed to cook meals. Great access to everything on the cape . Would definitely stay here again!
