The hotel is lovley, beautifully appointed room with quality bed and linen. We ate at the resturant and the food was top class. It's not cheap, but I felt it was worth it.

Wonderfully furnished room. Great restaurant and bar downstairs. The open bathroom and bedroom layout challenges even an old married couple in terms of using the toilet. 😉 Wish we had had time to take advantage of the tub.

I wanted to leave a positive review as I felt the manager genuinely tries their best. There's a total lack of privacy between the bedroom and bathroom. You would want to be in a very confident and comfortable partnership to share this room. There's literally NO privacy at all. The bed is only a double which is a let down, especially with the $400 a night price tag. Breakfast is off site but quire good.

Excellent choice for a getaway

Exceptional suites, well stocked and clean, included robes for use of stay were nice, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the on-site restaurant 3-course menu was amazing, although recommend booking dinner ahead of time as it fills up fast. Included amenities were natural soaps and cleaners, a really nice step above the usual hotel items.

Our suite was excellent and the dinner at the Oak & Anchor was superb! We recommend the duck confit and the beef cheeks. Broccolini side was perfectly cooked. Great bottle of local Pinot. Very local, welcoming feel. Awesome. Breakfast the next morning could use some help though. Was ok, with excellent coffee, but would be easy to make very special. Would highly recommend, and Port Fairy is a beautiful town!

Comfortable and clean. Dinner at Sidra was excellent. The reason for four star is that the bathroom is in the same room as the bedroom-no walls. It was extremely odd.

Only stay here if you like to toilet in full view

Beautifully renovated old pub is stylish and polished. Nice food. Really lovely friendly staff, most of whom bent over backwards to look after us, although the hotel manager would barely lift a finger unless asked explicitly. But the rooms are a bit odd - nowhere to hang clothes but a rickety rack that fell over with 2 items on it, few power outlets, no desk or table, no shelves or drawers, only “coffee” is in horrible weak bags. But the thing that really lets them down is the bathroom. Dangerously slippery floor tiles, a shower tap you can only reach while standing under the shower head or edging around the bath, a single basin (in the honeymoon suite.) The BIG problem though is that the toilet is right out in the open. Right there as you walk in the room! In a large suite, literally no privacy, visual or sound. Imagine spending your honeymoon negotiating with your new spouse whose turn it is to leave the room while the other can take a dump. It was horrible and ruined our stay.

Awesome gem but could be improved

The heating was not working but kindly replaced for the night by two electrical heaters which however proved not ideal — one was malfunctioning. Some scattered hair on the floor in the bathroom which should not have been there for the standards proposed by the hotel. Breakfast off-site was not as good as dinner on site. too noisy and not as high quality as the overall experience at the hotel.
