About this property
Timeless Days, Oceanfront Fisherman’s Cottage, Deep Water Dock & Boathouse
Escape to the charming coastal village of Port Clyde, Maine, and experience the timeless character of this oceanfront two-bedroom fisherman’s cottage, originally built in the 1870s. Overlooking the harbor and Raspberry Island, with lobster boats anchored just offshore, this warm and inviting home offers a rare combination of history, waterfront access, and authentic Maine charm.
Timeless Days was once the home of Linda Bean, and its character reflects a simple, coastal lifestyle with thoughtful details throughout. From the tiled fireplace to the preserved charm of the home and its name itself, this is a place that embraces comfort, history, and the natural beauty of the Maine coast. It is a modest home with a rich sense of place, offering a genuine connection to the harbor and village life.
Set on a traditional Port Clyde “postage stamp” lot along a winding harbor road, the home offers panoramic ocean views while remaining within walking distance of the village. This is a classic fisherman’s cape, cozy and inviting, with a layout that reflects its historic origins.
One of the defining features of this property is its true waterfront access. The home includes a deep water dock with ramp and float, along with a classic boathouse at the water’s edge. Guests may bring a boat and tie up, with the dock accommodating vessels of approximately 40 feet, depending on conditions.
As you enter the home, you step into a central hallway where the stairs rise in front of you and a direct view of the ocean draws your eye straight ahead. The living room is just to the left, offering a comfortable space with a propane fireplace, creating a warm and inviting place to relax.
The living area includes comfortable seating and a smart TV with cable, making it an easy place to unwind after a day on the water or exploring the village.
The kitchen blends vintage charm with updated functionality. It includes a full-size refrigerator, stove and oven, compact dishwasher, and wall-mounted microwave. Both a standard coffee maker and a Keurig are provided. The kitchen opens into a bright sunroom dining area with harbor views, creating a natural gathering space for meals and conversation.
Upstairs, you will find two bedrooms. One bedroom includes two twin beds, while the primary bedroom features a queen bed with water views and a smart TV. A full bathroom with shower and a stackable washer and dryer are also located on this level.
The stairs to the second floor are steeper than in newer homes, consistent with a traditional Maine cape and older fisherman’s cottage style.
A recessed heat pump system is installed on the second floor, providing both air conditioning in the summer and heat during cooler months. The first floor remains comfortable with natural airflow and coastal breezes.
Outside, the deck offers rocking chairs, a table, and a grill, creating an inviting space for outdoor dining. The yard is modest in size and includes a propane fire pit with four Adirondack chairs, along with lawn games.
From the deck, stairs lead down to the waterfront and boathouse.
The boathouse and dock area are a defining feature of this home. With a table and chairs set directly at the water’s edge, it becomes a natural place to gather for cocktails, read a book, write, paint, or simply take in the harbor views. Bird watching is exceptional here, with seabirds and coastal wildlife always active along the shoreline.
This waterfront location is not tidal in the same way as some nearby properties, offering more consistent water access. However, launching kayaks directly from the dock can still be challenging depending on conditions, and guests may prefer to launch from the nearby public landing or Drift Inn Beach.
Just down the road, you can purchase fresh lobster directly from local fishermen and bring it back to prepare at home.
This home is part of a classic coastal neighborhood with homes on either side. While not secluded, all homes are oriented toward the water, so the focus remains on the ocean views rather than neighboring properties.
This property is best suited for two vehicles and includes an upper garage for storing bikes or gear.
This home is designed to be enjoyed year round. In the summer, the waterfront, dock, and outdoor spaces define the experience. In the fall, the coastal light and changing seasons create a quieter atmosphere. In the colder months, the home becomes a cozy retreat, ideal for reading, writing, and relaxing by the fire.
Around the Fourth of July, you may see fireworks from various points around the harbor. These are typically set off by local residents and can appear in different directions across the water.

The water views were spectacular, and we enjoyed morning coffee on the deck watching the boats come in and out of the harbor. The property was clean and well-maintained, with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay.
Fantastic home. I can't say enough about it. Great fireplace, comfortable, great kitchen, walking distance to Port Clyde, the best harbor view and the sunsets. The rope shed is so cozy. You can lose yourself here.
Property was in a great location with amazing views, and I’m sure they would have been even better if the weather had cooperated! Everything we needed was provided, and it was very well maintained. We really enjoyed our time there.
This property exceeded our expectations in every way. The cottage was full of character and had a million dollar view of the harbor in this small fishing village. The bald eagle visits were a bonus and sunsets were spectacular.
Couldn’t have asked for anything more! Such a beautiful home to spend a week away. Our family felt right at home in the cozy spaces and we all slept soundly. Family game nights in the dining room and watching the snow fall on the harbor… elsewhere cannot compare. Frequent eagle and osprey sightings, a few seals. Great location and a comfortable, simple home. As always, Veronika is a pleasure to work with.
What a wonderful time we had at Timeless Days! The quaint little cottage was full of charm. Clean, comfortable and quiet! We will definitely be visiting again. Fresh lobsters even in December!!
Port Clyde is such a special place!
10/10. Incredible views, surroundings, quiet, relaxing, nothing needed except 2 glasses and a bottle. Exceeded all expectations. Thanks for ensuring this home is a home!
Although I had stayed last winter, this was my first time in warm weather and it was wonderful. Stunning views across the islands, lobster and sailboats drifting by, lupines and flowers in every direction. It’s an older home, very well cared for and full of character. The house has everything you could possibly need from lawn games, to beach chairs, fireplace, and a well-stocked kitchen…I love it there - it was very hard to leave!
If there’s a better view in the northern hemisphere, I’ve yet to see it. This is a great older home, lots of charm and character with breathtaking views and outdoor spaces. Lobster boats and eagles in full view from the kitchen and dining areas, even saw a helicopter land at the neighbors up the road. The house had absolutely everything needed, well-stocked kitchen, etc. One note…steps up to 2nd floor are steep, but were not an issue for me at all. I’ve already made plans to go back. So grateful to Linda, Veronica and staff for sharing such a special place!
Spent a cozy Thanksgiving week in this beautiful home. The water views from this home are absolutely stunning. The active fishing village views over the Port Clyde harbor showcased wildlife, clear water, boats and trees. Watched two bald eagles from the wide outdoor focused windows both upstairs and down and from deck. The spacious property has beautiful landscaping, hope too see more of it in the warmer months in the future! The gas fireplace was a cozy feature, especially for November.
Loved the retro kitchen that had everything we needed for a small Thanksgiving dinner for two. The bed was comfortable with a nice desk and sitting area in the bedroom. The single bathroom is upstairs and is clean and well stocked with L.L. Bean linens throughout. The staircase is narrow with taller than standard steps, but has a strong railing and is built to be sturdy.
We enjoyed a short walk to the cute waterside village.
We loved our stay at Timeless Days and hope to come back again.
The location and views of the harbor/cove are unparalleled. The house has updates but steep stairs, old flooring in the kitchen, a tiny dishwasher, and old kitchen cabinets. The master bed - super comfy and cozy. Most of the windows have been updated and are modern as well as provide beautiful views. Parts of the dock require repairs to prevent you from stepping through. You can't really swim (or let the dog swim) off of the float because there is no way to get back out of the water and safely into the yard. If you don't need some of that, you will love it. It is a great little retreat from the world and walking distance to the heart of Port Clyde.
While VRBO no longer allows owner contact before booking and is not as user friendly as other vacation rental platforms; Veronika, the property manager was very helpful with the booking process.
My husband, water-loving Lab and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at with the spectacular views in both fair and foul weather and great gas fireplace.
During storms we watched the waves roll across the reach through the picture window in the dining room/porch. On sunny days we grilled on the deck and read on the dock. The dog spent most of her Timeless days watching the diving ducks and basking in the sun.
The house is classic Maine decorated in LL Bean's best beach cottage style. It has been lovingly updated and expanded, with plenty of room to sprawl. Although the high winds and warped frame made the oceanfront door in the master bedroom inoperable, the manager was responsive and we understood that sea air and hard usage makes door maintenance difficult. The property is clean and clutter free inside and out. The kitchen is well stocked with quality cookware and cutlery.
The neighborhood is quiet yet neighborly. lt was a good base for our explorations. We enjoyed happy hour with the friendly folks next door and samis at Ancho Honey. Although the roads to Drift Inn Beach and Marshall Pt Light washed out during the storm, they were repaired by the next day. We romped on dog awesome Clark Island Preserve and Birch Pt Beach State Park.
This is our favorite rental. We will be back.
We had a perfect little getaway! The cute little cottage in the cove was just right.Nice propane fireplace w beautiful view of fishing boats from the entire back side of house.Very cozy. Best part for me ( besides fireplace)was the gorgeous simple Shaker furniture pieces!!Only drawback is the only bathroom upstairs but we managed fine.
This sweet cottage exceeded our expectations. It was exceptionally well stocked, clean, and comfortable. It was the beautiful view and surroundings that captured us the most. We will return
Everything was perfect for us at this great property. The location is right on the harbor with views that never end. I rented with the plan of painting the scenery right from the property, it couldn't have been better. Very quiet and relaxing spot, we even had an eagle in the backyard. The house is cozy and comfortable, and we enjoyed the deck facing the water. Definitely want to plan to come back soon.
