A large, tastefully decorated villa with nice views of hills and (especially from the main balcony), the sea. The owner/agent, Andreus, is very friendly, eager to please. He showed up the night we arrived to ensure all was in order and to take payment for the air-conditioning. (A/C in bedrooms comes with the price; using the two units in the living room is an additional €8 per day per unit). Requests were attended to very quickly. As an added touch, he brought a huge bunch of excellent grapes from his own garden!
The site is fairly quiet and quite private. There is a working farm across the driveway and a family dwelling on the other side, but there are good screens of trees and we had to work hard to see anybody – you are essentially invisible. The secondary highway is about 100m away, but traffic is not that high. At night, virtually the only sounds are surf and tree frogs.
Mattresses and pillows, in apparent conformity to Cypriot tastes, are quite hard.
The villa is family-friendly, with a ping-pong table, swings, pool floats and high chairs. There are mosquitoes at night and no screens. Everything in the kitchen works, once you figure out their eccentricities. Major appliances include refrigerator, stove/oven, dishwasher and clothes washer. The wi-fi works well on the ground floor.
Finding the place is admittedly a bit of a challenge. There is a sign on the main highway, but it is quite inconspicuous. The driveway is 10.4 km from the orange Kiosk sign mentioned in the directions (you will be sent these after reserving the villa), directly opposite a large array of ground-mounted solar panels on the left side of the highway. The driveway will challenge many vehicles, but can be done if you take care and drive slowly.
