"Beautiful secluded property on the water. The place was very clean and well furnished. Out first night there we saw dolphins swimming up the cove, jellyfish, crab, hooked something huge while fishing but lost it. This is the perfect place to stay to get away from the world and relax. "

Cedar Island Beachfront Cottage

"This was our third time at this cottage; while Cedar Island is somewhat remote (it's a gorgeous hour-long ride into the main towns), it is a terrific central base for a wide range of day trips. Ocracoke ferry station is at end of street, making for an amazing ride, lunch, beach trip, and walk around the historic village. Tryon Palace is an easy drive on a cloudy day that isn't good for the beach. Cape Lookout is a marvelous trip for shelling and solitude. Beaufort has wonderful restaurants and boat rentals, along with excursion boats. Emerald Isle beaches are excellent. On Cedar Isle itself, there are wild ponies and cows to be seen on the long walkable beach. This is a great location for a couple looking for privacy and a week-long getaway."

"The photos and description are completely misleading. Photos are several years old from a realtor's listing in 2022 and apparently no upkeep has taken place since then. A few rooms were tolerably clean but there is exposed rat poison beside pots and pans, clutter and debris, half used food in the fridge and cupboards, etc., etc. We've filed a 9 page complaint with VRBO including lots of pictures asking for a refund. "

"Seriously, I did not want to leave. This is such a clean comfortable home. Woke up to amazing sunrises. The home is equipped with everything you would need. We did not have children or pets with us but I did notice a gate at the top of the stairs which is very convenient if you did have children or pets. It was too early in the season for the pool to be open but that area looked well maintained and the pool was a good size. "
