"AC was broken in the first room when we checked in at 4pm. Front desk was reluctant to switch rooms saying they needed the room for other guests who hadn’t even arrived yet. She wanted us to wait on maintenance to fix it a second time, while we were trying to leave for a concert. Maintenance guy told us he knew the AC had a history of not working in that room and to call him before 10:30 if it went out again. (He didn’t actually fix it the first time). Second room was nice, but the window shade only closed halfway by design. Street lights were right next to the window. Would not stay here again. "

"The staff was exceptional. Went above and beyond to ensure that you are comfortable. Rooms were clean, spacious and well maintained. However, Breakfast on the weekend was better than the weekday but I would highly recommend and I will definitely come back!"

"Let’s describe it as quirky. This is in a former grand house, and has shared spaces including a living room. Our room was quite large and even had a few snacks. We never actually saw anyone else there, as we had instructions to get in. Parking was a short walk away in a museum lot. We loved the closeness to Nelson-Atkins museum, and it was pretty near KC Rep’s theater."

"Under renovation (which we were informed about the day of our check in). Upon check in, we were told we were lucky because we would be in one of the newly renovated rooms. Unfortunately, they are poorly done in every way. Nothing was functional, everything is cheap and done halfway (missing outlet covers, power strips hanging at the back of the bed, visible caulking), entire hotel smelled bad. Additionally, the desk was unattended most evenings with easy access to the building, the food permit expired in December, the WiFi never worked. For the renovation part, the work started earlier and ended later than we were told. The only good thing is that it is right on the free streetcar, which we used constantly. The noise of the streetcar didn’t bother us, but it may bother others. "

"We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean, renovated, and modern. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed being able to use amenities at the neighboring attached property as well. The location was excellent and was walking distance to numerous shops, restaurants, and museums. We will definitely plan to stay here again in the future. "

"We were in town staying for a night and our girls were going to a concert at the Uptown Theatre. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Shout out to the security gentlemen as well who was smiling and guiding cars where they needing to be in the pouring rain. Would definitely stay here again."
