Various restaurants and cafés serve Mecklenburg specialties and small shops invite you to browse. There are also sights worth seeing such as the Plau castle tower from 1449 with its deep dungeon and narrow climb, the famous lift bridge from 1916 and the town church from the 13th century, which can be seen from afar.
