「It was a decent stay. The hotel is in need of an upgrade, and is showing its age. The price is good and you get what you pay for. The room was clean enough for a 1-night stay as I was just passing through town. The hotel is near 2 bbq places so you can walk to lunch / dinner. 」

「We stayed for two nights to attend a local race. The front desk clerk, who was very nice, changed our room to a 2nd floor corner room, which he said was one of the finest he had. The room was huge, but sparsely furnished. There was also no maid service after our first night, which was really no big deal, but it would have been nice to have a small cafe table and a couple chairs. However, the traffic noise could be heard all night long, even in our room which was perhaps the farthest from the...

「Exactly what we hoped for. Wish we would have had more time than 2 nights. Did some fishing off the dock, enjoyed the peacefulness of the yard and the lake. Driveway is very steep but we knew this ahead of time so no issues.」

「House was not clean - spider webs and wasps throughout. Kitchen cabinets were dirty. Door knobs didn’t work. Boards on deck need replacing.」

「We had a great time with 3 kids, age 8-12. They were able to kayak and fish in the cove safely. Internet/tv was very limited/spotty at times. You will need to drive 20-30 minutes for most groceries/restaurants.」

「House was beautiful. High quality all the way; mattresses, kitchen appliances, furniture. Nice playroom with toys. Game room was wonderful. Only drawback was access to water; lots of steps. Hard (or impossible) for older people and small children to get down to dock.」

We cooked, grilled, swam, fished, canoed, kayaked, slept in the hammock, gathered around the firepit -- and had a fantastic experience. The location is picturesque on the shores of Lay Lake. The owner was quick to respond to our questions and incredibly accommodating. We can't stop talking about our time there and hope to go back again next year!」

「This house was an amazing jewel to stay at! Fantastic location off the lake and close to Alabaster with an easy commute. Our group loved sitting by the fire each night and the amount of seating is perfect for a large group. We had a maintenance issue during our stay and the housekeeper came out immediately to assist. Great communication from owner.」

「The house setup is great. We enjoyed sitting on the covered decks with a great view overlook the Waxahatchie. The flat top grill was a big hit. The house was well stocked and very comfortable. Great location .」
