Pepin’s Premier Waterfront Stay — The Dockside
Pepin’s most distinctive waterfront stay — a private, walkable retreat combining a design-forward A-Frame cabin and a spacious marina bungalow into one unforgettable property on Lake Pepin. With panoramic river views, a private hot tub overlooking the water, and unmatched space for gathering, this is the ideal setting for wedding weekends, creative retreats, and once-a-year trips you want to get right.
(Each unit can also be rented separately -- see my Host Profile for the listings!)
Welcome to The Dockside — a one-of-a-kind waterfront retreat in the heart of Pepin, Wisconsin. This is the only rental in town that offers this combination of location, scale, design, and flexibility.
When you book this listing, you’re reserving both homes on the property:
The A-Frame Cabin — romantic, light-filled, and perched above the marina with sweeping river and bluff views. It’s perfect for quiet mornings, creative time, and sunset moments.
The Marina Bungalow — open, expansive, and designed for connection, with panoramic lake views, a large kitchen–dining–bar area, and a private hot tub with river views.
Together, they form a cohesive retreat that feels intentional rather than oversized — together when you want it, separate when you need it.
Across the two spaces you’ll find: - 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths - 2 fully equipped kitchens - Multiple living and dining areas - Generous indoor and outdoor gathering space - Approximately 2,600 sq ft of thoughtfully designed living
This property was made for shared experiences.
The Marina Bungalow serves as the natural hub for gathering — with a large, flexible kitchen, dining, and bar area that easily adapts for sit-down meals, buffet-style dinners, getting ready together, or late-night conversations. Wedding parties regularly use the space for rehearsal dinners, hair and makeup, and relaxed pre-event gatherings.
Across the property, we’ve hosted: - Wedding parties and family groups - Songwriting retreats and creative jam sessions - Chef-driven food weekends - Multi-generation family vacations - Photo shoots and milestone celebrations
The furnishings throughout both homes are authentic midcentury pieces, fixtures, and lighting, giving the entire property a warm, timeless aesthetic that photographs beautifully and feels special without being precious. Outside, decks and seating areas overlook the water, and the private hot tub with river views extends the gathering space well into the evening.
Perfect for: - Wedding groups attending Villa Bellezza or Woods & Co. - Extended families or multi-couple getaways - Creative retreats, workshops, or small group gatherings - Guests who value design, light, and memorable settings - Groups who want one shared experience with room to spread out
Not the best fit for: - Guests expecting hotel-style minimalism - Groups seeking total separation between units - Loud late-night parties (this is a special place, not a party house)
This is one of the most walkable locations in Pepin. You’re just down the street from Harbor View Café and The Pickle Factory, steps from the marina and riverfront paths, and a short drive to destination wedding venues like Villa Bellezza and Woods & Co.
Pepin is known for its waterfront beauty, destination weddings, and relaxed pace. From this location, everything flows easily — meals, coffee, celebrations, and quiet moments by the water — without needing to get in a car.
In cooler months, the property takes on a quieter, more reflective feel — misty mornings over the river, glowing sunsets, and peaceful evenings soaking in the hot tub. It’s an especially beautiful time for creative retreats, weddings, and slower gatherings. Please remove your shoes in the entryways! Absolutely no loud parties. Quiet hours begin at 10pm, and must be respected for the sake of our neighbors. No pets unless previously authorized by the host, and absolutely no smoking.
We`ve got super nice neighbors, so it`s really important to make sure they are not disturbed during your stay. Please be quiet and respectful while here, and when entering/exiting the property or spending time in the yard or on the deck. Thanks!

This was a beautiful property and our host was wonderful! We were centrally located within walking distance to our wedding venue and restaurants. I would highly recommend this place to others!
Stayed here for a bridal celebration for my friend! Perfect location - close to bars and other local shops, and beautiful view right across from marina. We loved using the hot tub! And the home was clean, super cute, and more than enough space! Good communication from the host with clear instructions on everything.
We really enjoyed the property! It was spacious, clean and we loved the mid-century vibe! The host provided us with a list of places to eat, to buy groceries and activities in the area, which was helpful! We were even able to enjoy the hot tub!! The train is very noticeable!!
We loved our stay at the Dockside. Peter was an excellent host, so responsive and helpful for us. It’s such a cool property. We loved staying there and felt like everyone has
My family members had a wonderful stay at The Dockside! The place had such a cool vibe and there was plenty of room for everyone. Our oldest daughter was getting married nearby at the beautiful Woods & Co. My husband and I stayed at a cabin at the venue, but we loved having the rest of our immediate family close by in Pepin. My daughter and her husband, my son and his girlfriend, my mom, my nephew, and a family friend absolutely loved their accommodations! I would definitely highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in the Pepin. We plan to come back when we can just be in town for a little rest and relaxation.
