My room smelled so very badly of mold I barely slept. Rooms are new so I was very surprised but I think it was coming from the air conditioning. When I asked about it (twice), staff didn't care, nor did anything about it ( although I'm not sure what they could have done except clean the air conditioning unit which they definitely were not about to do) . The hotel only has about six or eight rooms and they were all full so I could not move to a different room. ( they are building more) If you're sitting on the front porch you're looking directly at the people in the room across from you, which are less than 3 meters away .The bathroom is open air so if it's raining you're standing in the rain having a shower which is strange. The bathroom and the room were very clean though, and the bed was very large and comfortable with clean sheets... just the moldy smell was overwhelming, so be aware if you have any allergies especially. The roof of the room is alang-alang which is a type of local thatch, and that could be the reason for the moldy smell.
The pool is the size of a postage stamp which is deceiving from the photographs.
Even though I speak a bit of Bahasa, staff was sour and not friendly...probably because I complained about the mold smell as soon as I walked into my room as it was overwhelming!
I've stayed in Indonesia many years and I know during rainy season lots of rooms have a moldy smell . But it is NOT rainy season now so there's really no excuses.
