Great location, out of the touristy area of town, yet a short 4 minute drive to restaurants and shopping. Extremely safe location, we felt very secure in fully gated property, that had 5 total separate units, all private to each other.Directions were spot on and check in was easy.Very clean and nicely appointed, rather new villa. Living space is compact but extremely functional.Host was very responsive and we were very happy with our stay.

The apartment is cute, looks newly built and was clean for our arrival. The building is one of 5 units on a gated property. One side faces neighborhood houses and the other side faces a field, with the main road in the distance. We could hear neighbors and traffic, but it wasn't bothersome.A few thoughtful touches would have made this 5-star. The kitchen was not stocked to make anything more than a simple breakfast (only one pan, no pot to boil water, no spatula). There was no dish sponge or dish towels. In addition there were a handful of improperly maintained/installed fixtures. The kitchen sink faucet base wasn't fully attached, and the pull out faucet wouldn't pull out. The toilet ran, the right side toilet button wouldn't flush, the toilet seat was loose, the left side vanity door wouldn't close properly, and the bathroom lights flickered. None of these impacted our enjoyment. We stayed 4 nights and lived out of our suitcases because of lack of storage (no place to hang or put our clothes). The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed the breeze on the patio in the mornings and evenings. Also a great location to explore La Fortuna. A little more attention to detail would have made this a 5-star stay.
