The villa itself is a historic home and the family offered us the chance to read about its history, which made our stay even more memorable. If I am ever in this area again, it would be a place I would gladly return to."

"A rather unkindly furnished room with a bed, TV and a board on the wall. It was enough for an overnight stay, but I wouldn't wish a rainy day on a tourist who has to spend it in his room. The shower was really unpleasant, with the ceiling disintegrating into fringes due to the constantly rising damp and black mould forming. "When we arrived we received heartfelt apologies that the heating was not working (and autumn chill had just set in). There was however an open fire in the dining room. The meal was acceptable, but not outstanding. I don't know if we were suffering from an end of season situation. There was no offer of any reduction from our bill as a measure of good will."
