Pao de Lo de Margaride

This is a great hotel. The staff are very helpful, the room we had was more than adequate. It was a bit strange having the bathroom sink in the main room, but not a problem. There are a lot of young people in and around the hotel, all so respectful and quiet, it has a lovely chilled vibe.

We wish we had stayed here longer! All the staff at the hotel were lovely and so helpful in every way - they automatically upgraded us to a royal suite at no additional cost and we were amazed by the room and the beautiful view of the Douro river. The in room dining and included breakfast were so delicious and had a lot of variety. Special recognition to Marta for recommending us other cool places to check out for our other stops in Lisbon and Lagos. Would absolutely recommend staying here!

River House is very well located overlooking the river in a busy area adjacent to the Macdonalds. We did not have a river view and the room was quite small. The elevator was also quite small, barely fitting the two of us and our suitcases. The elevator does not go to the ground floor so stairs are required to get to breakfast. The air conditioning in the room would not cool the room to our desired temperature at night. Overall it seemed a little over priced for the quality of the room.
