Apartment had been double-booked. We received a full refund, plus the property manager, with the authorization of the owner, found us alternative accommodation, which despite a number of issues (all resolved quickly with the assistance of the aforementioned property manager and the alternative accommodation homeowner) proved to be acceptable. We appreciated that what could have been a nightmare turned out to be a series of minor annoyances.
