The setting is incredible and the property utilized every opportunity to capitalize on the natural beauty of the view and surrounding foliage. Just as important as the setting was the attentive beautiful people who work there. The food was great and well presented.
Good, River/Mountain facing room, Excellent setting over Mekong river. 1 night stay very comfortable. Good breakfast and dinner with veg options

The room offered a beautiful view, and the service was good. However, the soundproofing is poor; I could clearly hear the neighboring doors opening and closing. The breakfast experience was disappointing; I waited 25 minutes for my food, and they refused to provide bread while I was waiting for my noodles. Additionally, I was only given one bottle of water for a two-night stay, which was inconvenient.

Wonderful one night here. We loved our room and the foot massages we got there. Our dinner was great and breakfast too. Lovely staff and all were very helpful
We thoroughly enjoyed our short but beautiful stay at this great property. With superb views of the mighty Mekong and 2 decks to enjoy them from, we were reluctant to leave our room.
The bed & pillows were super comfy, making for a very good night's sleep. The staff made us hearty breakfast boxes for our early morning departure, plus free transfers were included from and to the pier to catch our slow boat.
I could've easily stayed another couple of nights to fully immerse myself in the Mekong experience.
What a fabulous hotel is the Pakbeng Sanctuary Lodge. A stunning view over the Mekong River, beautiful rooms and a lovely bar/ restaurant.
There are 2 areas, the lower with superior rooms, a restaurant and swimming pool, and the upper with deluxe rooms and suites, also with a separate restaurant.
We were upgraded to a suite and it was luxurious.
The food is lovely and the drinks cold. The included breakfast was tasty.
Beautifully furnished, clean room with great views of the river.
Staff were excellent, spoke good English and very helpful

Very poorly managed. No hair dryers. They literally act like you’re inconveniencing them by even asking… “you can come pick one up in the other building.”
We had a very brief stay at this beautiful hotel. Staff were amazing with a very big welcome from Ben the manager. Rooms were beautiful with all the amenities you need. The view was amazing and the town while very primitive, very interesting. Would have liked to stay another night the appreciate the area.
They initially had only one of our two rooms booked but sorted it out quickly with no fuss. Setting on riverside was great and watched elephants bathing at breakfast time. Evening set menu was very good. If you wanted an alternative meal then you could walk into the village. Staff helpful and friendly. A good choice for a mid range hotel in Pakbeng.
I was in one of the deluxe rooms overlooking the Mekong in the building at the top of the hill. My room was incredible with amazing views and cool design with the bed oriented to the river view. Amazing as it was, however, the room isn't very functional. Getting the doors open to the balcony is a challenge, and guests in adjacent rooms can see into your room easily, so privacy is a bit of an issue. In the room itself, there's no desk space to work from (or sit down) and the luxe design with the bath amenities is exposed to other guests looking in your curtains are open. The open-air restaurant is wonderful for an evening meal, but breakfast is not buffet and limited in options. Plus, most people staying are only for 1 night because they're on the slow boat to Luang Prabang, so the timing is tight to eat, check out, and get the shuttle down to the river for your boat's departure. The pool area is fantastic, and the staff were very helpful and attentive. The night I stayed here, there was a lot of loud music from neighboring private properties and when I complained, the manager said there's nothing that can be done about it. Not the property's fault, and could be an issue with other hotels in the small town of Pakbeng. Still, a bit frustrating, though eventually the music did stop. Despite my criticism, this hotel is worth staying at multiple nights to really soak up the resort atmosphere.
A beautiful hotel on the top of the hill overlooking the Mekong River. They picked me up at the boat and transported me to an oasis. This place was a great way to relax after my 6 hour boat ride to get there.
The people that worked there were friendly and the view from my patio was amazing. I loved watching the sun set over the river. I only wish I could have had more time to enjoy this place before starting my second day journey to Luang Prabang.

Caution…. The hotel did a bait and switch on me. What you see in the photos on Travelocity isn’t necessarily what you will receive. I booked and paid for a balcony suite. Instead, I was given a ground floor room. “Sorry, it’s already full.” Instead of taking any sort of responsibility, they blamed everyone but themselves. They even had the audacity to say that I was the first booking they ever had off of Travelocity. I would use caution before booking with them.
