Organized, clean, comfortable, new refrigerator/freezer, new washer/dryer, new TV…. Lots of windows provide good views of the bay and pool area. The grounds are in excellent condition. The pool is large, and beach chairs are comfortable. Pool restaurant pricing is reasonable and the food good. Convenient location.

It’s located in a very good area ( the marina area ) I used to stay at the Marriott next store for about 13 years in a row , but 9 years ago I found this place on Vrbo with such great reviews I thought I would try it . ShangriLa is tops in PV: quiet, beautiful, low density and fantastic location next to the Marina. Don’s unit is well managed with upscale comforts and hi end kitchenware. Would return with confidence of a wonderful stay. Thanks Don and (manager) Lisette.

Great Christmas

If you can book Don's property - Do It!

We booked Don's property because it was a great price in Shangri-La. Don's attention to details, comfort and convenience are perfect. Tankless hot water heater, great shower pressure, excellent beds, sheets, pillows and towels. Fantastic views and the cruise ships are jaw dropping to watch. Two washer/dryers, quiet dishwasher etc. If it's available you should book his place. Have a great trip! PV is fantastic! For an incredible dinner in town try La Iguana at Casa Kimberly on either a Tuesday or Friday. La Terrazza at the Marina is also excellent. The decorations and furniture are comfortable. Overall the condo is very relaxing. We would strongly recommend it.

Couldn’t have asked for better!!

This property or is five star without a doubt! The listing accurately represents the condo and all of its amenities. The location is fantastic… Walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and entertainment. A taxi ride to Walmart or Costco is only a few dollars if that is a need. The beach is well taken care of and easily accessible. There is a fantastic restaurant/bar near the pool on the property. It makes for a super convenient and inexpensive meal. The view from the condo is incredible as well! The condo was super clean (I’m very particular) and well-maintained. As well as very well stocked with essentials (welcome coffee/ tea, several bottles of water, paper towels, trash bags, dish soap, clothing detergent, shampoo, body wash) to get you going until you make it to a grocery store! All of the staff at Shangri-La pleasant and helpful. Security takes their job very seriously and we always felt looked after! Don, the owner, was super professional, communicated efficiently, and willing to help in anyway possible! Bottom line… what you see is truly what you get! We will definitely be back again… sooner than later I hope!!

An Unforgettable Stay in Puerto Vallarta

Our stay was wonderful, Don was a wonderful host! From start to finish, every aspect of the stay was simply perfect. The moment we stepped into the condo, we were greeted by the most breathtaking panoramic views of the sparkling Pacific Ocean and the stunning coastline. The condo's location was ideal, offering a perfect blend of tranquility and convenience. The condo was tastefully decorated, reflecting the beauty and charm of PV. The furniture was modern, and the layout was spacious, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. The condo has all the amenities one could ever need for a dream vacation. The fully-equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare delicious meals and enjoy them on the private balcony overlooking the ocean. The air conditioning was a blessing during the hotter days, and the Wi-Fi kept us connected throughout the day. Cleanliness is always a top priority, and we were delighted to find the condo spotless upon arrival. The condo staff and management were incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The condo's location was fantastic, situated in a safe and vibrant neighborhood. We were just a short walk away from the beach, marina, restaurants, and shops. Security was a top-notch in the condo complex, providing us peace of mind during our entire stay. The gated entry and 24/7 surveillance made us feel safe and secure at all times. The pool is HUGE!! Great swim up bar for drinks and food with even better prices! I would highly recommend staying here.

Great Condo

Enjoyed Don's condo very much. Don was very helpful with any questions we had. Great location by Marina, with many wonderful restaurants within walking distance or short cab ride. Pool and beach area were very nice and spent a lot during the day there. Shangri-La overall was a very nice property. Don't be afraid to rent this condo. Thank you Don.

Great host

My husband and I and my daughter enjoyed this property very much! The house was well equipped, I loved the organized cabinets and welcomed amenities We feel bad that we didn’t spend enough time in the house, we came with group of people and there was so much activity everyday that kept us busy! The house was impeccably well maintained, clean, organized, (everything had a label). Beautiful water views, and easy to manage fans, ac, and everything in between. Don arranged for us to be picked up from the airport and dropped off, and was quick to respond to any questions I had prior to arrival. I’d highly recommend his place, and am looking forward to coming back again soon.

Fantastic property

Both the Shanghai-La property and Don’s place exceeded our expectations. The pool was wonderful! His place has a fantastic view and was very nice. We loved the balconies. Everyone there treated us so well and were very careful with COVID precautions. Don was a wonderful host and quickly answered our questions and offered helpful suggestions about places to eat and even sent us a link to the pool restaurant menu. Which by the way was very good and a huge convenience. The marina also had great restaurants and was an easy walk; and we took advantage of that on a number of evenings for dinner. Overall one of the most beautiful and relaxing places we have been and we hope to go back soon!

The perfect vacation

My girl friend and I traveled down to PVR for a week long vacation at Don’s condo and the pictures don’t do it justice. You have to go see this place for yourself and enjoy everything that Puerto Vallarta has to offer. Don was such a great host in prepping us for our trip and giving us helpful tips and great suggestions of where to go, what to see and where to eat. We ran out of time to go visit some of the places he mention which means we will have to go back. I highly suggest enjoying the food there at the restaurant and drinks at the bar. The prices are very reasonable and the food is great. I think we had fajitas and shrimp everyday. Cesar picked us up from the airport and took us back when we were forced to leave PVR. Cesar had a great personality and made us feel very welcome. This service made it very easy to get to and from Shangri-la from the airport. Great touch! The Shangri-la staff was great and when you get down to the bar, ask for Daniel. He was there everyday I was there and provided the best service I have ever had traveling internationally. We weren’t even halfway thru our trip and we were already talking about coming back. Don’s place is awesome and amenities made it even that much more enjoyable. Thanks for such a memorable vacation as we had a blast and have memories for a lifetime. Brad

Don's is an outstanding host. The condo has great views and is lavishly decorated. The pool, the palapas at the beach and gym are very nice. Great location by Marina Vallarta. We will be back in the near future.

Beautiful views and wonderful staff!

My family and I stayed at Don's property for one week and had an amazing time exploring Marina Vallarta. Don was always quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had before and during our stay. We were also impressed with the property itself as well as the Shangri-La staff and management team! Geraldo (management team member) was awesome! He made sure we didn't have to do anything but enjoyed our vacation. Any concerns we had, Geraldo took care of it right away. Thank you, Geraldo! We went to the pool as soon as we arrived to the condo and one of the staff at the pool saw my manual attempt to blow up an inflatable and offered to assist. We were truly impressed with how friendly everyone was at the Shangri-La property. We got to know Thomas (concierge from tower 5 and security at the front gate), because he always made the time to talk to us and provided many fun recommendations whether for activities or food. For the most part we stayed around Marina Vallarta as there are many restaurants and shops to explore. Our favorite restaurant is Victor's Place at the Marina! The owner is super friendly and hospitable. We loved it so much we went there 3 times during our stay. We also checked out some restaurants in the Marriott which is next door to the condo. Towards the end of the our trip, we went to Freddy's Tuscan for breakfast (as recommended by Thomas) and spent the afternoon at El Malecon and Playa de los Muertos in Puerto Vallarta. We had a wonderful family vacation at Don's place. Thank you, Don, for sharing your beautiful condo with us!

Great unit in a beautiful place

Stayed a week at Don's place and had a wonderful time. The unit is clean and well appointed. Don and the management team are responsive and easily accessible. The complex is well maintained, beautiful pool, reasonable food poolside and easy access to Marina and downtown PV.

We had issues with the cleaning , the cleaning lady should do a better job for this up scale condo. We tried to reach Guillermo , supposedly he is the one in charge of the administration of the condo , no luck with Guillermo. We will gladly come back to Shangrila and this condo.

Everything you need for a FABULOUS vacation!

We stayed for a full week in Don's Shangri-La condo and it was everything and more than we expected. The photos are spot on, it was beautiful, well appointed and incredibly comfortable. A short ride from the airport, a close walk to the marina and just a few minutes cab ride to old town PV. The condo is equipped with everything you need to make delicious meals in the gourmet kitchen and on the balcony grill that overlooks the gorgeous views of the pool and the Pacific Ocean. Rogelio, the condo's concierge is there daily to assist suggestions and reservations for any excursion you might want to partake in. There are numerous fabulous restaurants to enjoy as well as spa treatments both on site and just walking distance from the Shangdi-La. We will definitely be re-booking with Don, this vacation was one for the memory book!

Shangri-La: Welcome to Paradise , frequent visitors.......

Reprise from 2010 - What else can we say..... One of the biggest advantages to living in the great Pacific Northwest is direct access to Alaska Airline’s non-stop service from Sea-Tac to Puerto Vallarta. Our family (4 adults) enjoyed 21 fabulous days living the good life thanks to Mr. Hertel’s 9th floor condo (rooms with multi-views of Banderas Bay). What a wonderful, calming, stress-free two weeks. We will definitely visit again and again. The condo is spacious and comfortable with amazing views of the Bay and surrounding area. Pictures on Don’s website accurately depict the condo and Shangri-La. Awesome sunsets (a daily occurrence) offer a perfect segue to a wide range of relaxing or exhilarating evening activities. Start your mornings with a cup of coffee on the balcony. You can watch the dolphins and fishing boats start their day. The condo is equipped with all the amenities you will need. We had the air conditioning on more than was necessary. It wasn’t till mid-point of our stay that we realized how the breezes off the bay cool the condo. Little air conditioning is needed to stay cool. Don’s condo is “family friendly” with lots of pool toys. Each bedroom has its own bathroom en suite. Sweet :-) Shangri-La is immaculate, beautiful and secure; with lush, well manicured vegetation and lawns framing it’s water wonders. The grounds are tended to daily and that includes the pools. The main pool is amazing. HUGE describes it best. You will spend a lot of time either beside or in it. Shangri-La’s staff is friendly, pleasant and helpful. The location in the Marina area is ideal because you are close to everything. Nearby, plenty of places to explore and restaurants offering a wide variety of food await you. Catching a bus to other places in Puerto Vallarta is easy, accessible, and a whole lot of “bouncy bouncy” fun:-). As previously mentioned, we will be visiting again and again. AND we continue to do so. Our time at Mr. Hertel’s condo provided many lasting memories, conveniently backed up with 1,345 + digital pictures. Muchas gracias Senor Don. Reprise by McD.
