Beautiful quiet vacation spot

Love how quiet and private this spot is, beautiful property with a lake view! The house is really nice, love the openness of the kitchen and living room. Love the back patio to sit on and see all the wildlife. Only “negative” was our check in time was 4pm and didn’t get a message with check in info until 4:30pm, but that didn’t effect our plans at all.

Labor Day

We had a great time at the cabin, with great weather. Headed into Park Rapids one day, neat little brewery and restaurant with delicious food! Excited to see the cabin again next year, with a finished basement!

Cabin Weekend Stay

Relaxing, clean, and comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen was perfect for cooking our own meals. Great location and close to Park Rapids with grocery stores and gas. Enjoyed the wildlife and peaceful setting.

Great stay!

Overall are stay was amazing. The outside was mowed but lots of cobwebs and the front of the house wasn’t advertise and the toilet handle stopped working. Overall it was very affordable and worked great for what we needed!

Wonderfully Relaxing Stay

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. The last time was about 2 years ago. The owners added a better summer heating & cooling unit. Normally you would think we would have needed the air conditioning, but needed the heat instead. Really enjoyed our stay and will come here again.

Great space!!

Ice fishing weekend with friends and tje space was perfect! No lake access from cabin due to a natural spring but guys went to boat landing on other side.... cabin is fantastic.... bedrooms could use a lamp but not a big deal at all ... cozy space ...close to Cross country ski trails..not far from Itaska park or Park Ralids ... snowmobile trail just across road ..

Clean, Comfortable, and Convenient

This was a great stay for us. Check-in was easy with clear directions. The cabin is clean and the open space was very welcoming. We appreciated the comfortable indoor and outdoor furniture and all the conveniences in the kitchen. We golfed at Headwaters Golf Course, biked at Itasca State Park, hiked on the Heartland Trail and fished at Bass Lake. We really enjoyed our happy hours on the deck listening to the loons. Thanks!

This is our 2nd year on Straight lake and it did not disappoint! The home was perfect for what we needed! We were able to get a boat to the dock but it took a little finesse. We saw tons of wildlife and the loon nest close to the dock was our favorite( secretly hoping we would see little loons) The property was peaceful and quiet! We always enjoy the fishing and caught a ton of fish… big and small! It rained quite a bit on our stay but the fishing was awesome! We would love to stay again!!! Recommend this place for a quiet, affordable vacation!

Our stay in Osage

Had a great stay at the Osage property. The property manager - Troy - was very helpful during our arrival/check-in. Really roomy and comfortable home! The kitchen had everything we needed and the island is HUGE -- great for family meals and activities. The beds and linens were so comfortable. The only suggestion would be to include a small bedside lamp in each bedroom, along with a few nightlights. We loved our stay and would totally recommend to others -- beautiful area, and quiet location. Very close to hiking/trails and Park Rapids is just a short drive away. Thanks for a great spot to unwind for the long weekend!

Peaceful Retreat

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin near Osage. The property is beautiful with elevated views of Straight Lake. The interior spaces are great, especially the kitchen with its gigantic island. We didn't make full meals but the kitchen was stocked with everything you'd need. The bed in the main bedroom was comfortable. One negative was the screened in porch didn't seem fit for use (dusty, full of cobwebs, no seating), and it was far away from the lake. Also, the carry-out your trash policy is awkward (couldn't the cleaning crew take it?). Neither of those negatives are deal-breakers however. We'd stay here again.

Great for a quiet wknd getaway :)

This was a cozy cabin to stay in for the new years weekend! It was a good distance to town if you want to explore park rapids or get dinner/groceries. We loved how big the kitchen was and that it had everything we needed. We really appreciated all the towels and blankets since it was wintertime. The memory foam beds were nice and cozy. And all the windows in the living room were great to look at the beautiful outdoors. It was also fun to walk around and explore in the snow, this would be a great place to stay in the summertime. The only inconvenience was that we had to take our trash with us and we could not find the local trash place so we had to bring our trash all the way home with us. An outdoor trash bin may solve this problem. Otherwise, this was a great place to stay and would certainly stay again!

Great Getaway In The North Woods

Completely modernized home with a great kitchen, living room, modern bathroom, and two bedrooms. A very secluded and quiet place to vacation. We had a little trouble figuring out how the electric heating worked, but a call to the owner, Troy, and straightened that out quickly. Internet provided by HughesNet Satellite service. Latency a little long but adequate for Roku streaming. T-Mobile 5G cell service was good at this location, and faster than the HughesNet service so I used a T-Mobile cell phone hot spot instead of HughesNet for streaming video to the TV. We spent a very relaxing week using the home as a base and seeing the sights around it - Itasca State Park, Many Point Scout Camp, Detroit Lakes, & Park Rapids. It is a little challenging to get a fishing boat into and out of the dock, but I did manage to do it. Have photos of "Bambi" and "Blackie" (that turned out to be a black ground squirrel family, not just one black squirrel). We also took advantage of the charcoal barbeque to grill on. All in all, a great vacation. We appreciate being able to rent this wonderful cabin for the week.

Third year in a row :)

Love this little cabin -- just close enough to Park Rapids, yet far enough out to enjoy the peace of being up north. Perfect size with the two bedrooms, and roomy bathroom. Love having the laundry available also. My only suggestion would be to have a few lamps (living room and in each bedroom) so you don't have to rely on just the overhead lighting. But we really do love this place -- did you notice it has the biggest kitchen island in the history of up north cabins?? LOVE!
