This was such a nice spot. It was an easy drive into Gettysburg. We also visited Mr Ed's elephant museum, whcih i highly recommend if youre traveling with kids. The house was so cute and had everything we needed. I will absolutely come bacj the next time we plan to visit
The house is very clean and comfortable.
Great location out of town if you want some space from the crowd.
But close enough to be anywhere in town quickly.
The rustic old farmhouse feel of the place was cozy and took you back in time. We were only minutes from Gettysburg so we were able to escape to the country for quiet evenings around the fire pit.
Great use of space and old wood in what appears to have once been a restaurant. Loved the open mess and the use of the old wood on walls and floor. Quiet and relaxing place to meet with family. Comfortable sleeping
We rented the house for our one night stay in Gettysburg. The house was very clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting outside at the table and then playing pool in the evening. I would definitely stay again if I was in the area.
This house is in a great location for easy access to Gettysburg. We brought two of our dogs and they love the place. It can get a little chilly downstairs, but nothing an extra sweatshirt can’t fix. Great communication with owner!
The General's Hideaway is near enough to be handy to Gettysburg yet far enough away to be private and served by Uber Eats. Our hostess was wonderfull. The cottage was extremely clean and well appointed with everything you need. Just bring your cloths and food. You dont need anything else. Even your pets are greeted with treets and toys.We will be back.
My BIL and I used this property as our base for exploring the town of Gettysburg and the Battlefield. When we were home it was very spacious. There was enough room for both of us to have some alone time. The property is close to the road, so on a couple of occasions we could hear the traffic. Not an issue at night because we were so tired.
This place was exceptionally clean & nice. Close to Gettysburg Military Park. Really nice amenities & nice area & we were able to bring our little dog.
Stayed here on a recent visit to Gettysburg, traveling with our 10 year old granddaughter and our dog. There were so many nice touches and amenities, and the beds were very comfortable. Communicating with the owner was easy, and the owner went out of their way to be helpful and accomodating. We were pleasantly surprised at how well-stocked the kitchen was, and impressed with the collection of games and pet items. Great stay!
Great location! My mom and I absolutely loved the General’s Hideaway for our trip to Gettysburg. We even loved the pool table and played a few games. We brought my Mom’s service dog with us and the hosts made sure to include a bed and supplies for him if needed, which was very sweet of them. We brought food to cook during our stay and finding everything in the kitchen was a breeze! We loved the layout. The beds were extremely comfortable as well. Danielle and Jeremy made the whole check in process seamless and really easy, which was very much appreciated. Mom and I agree, we will be back!
We had a wonderful stay at the General's Hideaway! This was the second time we have stayed here and both times have been great! Danielle is a great hostess! She set up awsome package for our dog and made him feel at home too!❤️
The place was well located to all places we wanted to visit. The only complaint is the traffic. Side of home was no more than 10 ft from major road with tractor trailer buzzing by all thru the the night. The listing mentioned road noise but never imagined being in the middle of it.
This is a really cute place and especially great if you are traveling with pets. Really clean and well stocked. It was perfect for us, but we were out all day and really only there to sleep. Beds were comfortable too.
Very cute place, we had fun playing a game of pool too. The owners even provided a book which included things to do around the area, places to eat, wineries to visit and fun tours to go on. The owners are very detail oriented and we had everything provided for us that we needed during our stay. I would highly recommend staying here!!
Very appreciative of our stay. Only difficult thing was our need for bathroom in the night and having to go up and down stairs. Otherwise highly recommend!!linda bench
This was a very clean and cute property. Enjoyed the board games, and pool table. Only about 10 minutes to get into gettysburg. Perfect for a small family or friend gathering!
