I am going to state only facts without emotions.
Check in was at 4pm. We stopped in to check out location and lounge at the clubhouse at 12:30pm. We were able to enter the house with the code and the house was never touched by the cleaning company. We left the property to go shopping and returned at 3:45. The cleaning crew just showed up and said that they needed 2 hours to clean the home. We stayed out back while the house was being cleaned.
This is how the home was serviced:
-All the carpets were swept with a broom, not a vacuumed.
-The bathrooms were wiped down and the showers were left dirty
-The same blankets were still on the bed from the previous renters
-The sliding glass door was never cleaned.
-The carpets had sunflower seeds shells left in several rooms.
-The refrigerator was never cleaned out
-All the carpets are dirty.
-Roaches in the pantry and on the counter
-Had to purchase a pack of light bulbs. Several were blown.
-It took a day before we could use the pool. Couldn't see the bottom until later on the second day.
-The ice machine made a loud popping noise every hour for 30 seconds the entire time. Also, the ice doesn't work.
-They only left 11 towels and no washcloths for a home with an occupancy of 16.
-3 of the bedrooms had tv's that had DVD players and no cable signals
-Some of the remotes are missing batteries
-Dining table needed to be tightened, it rocked back and forth. I hand tightened it.
-The chairs had tears in the. One of the chairs had three legs
-Red stains throughout the entire house.
I called the VRBO number and was told to contact the owner. I called the owner, Frank, and told him that this home is not ready to be rented out in this condition. Frank said that he would get the carpets cleaned. I told hin to get a vacuum cleaner over here and he said he would reimburse me if I go get one. I responed, NoHe said he would get a vacuum there. It never got there and he has ignored my calls.
My personal feedback.
This was very embarrassing as the host for this vacation. My wife, mom, and aunts had to clean and sanitize the home, and wash the blankets. I have done Florida trips with the family since year 2000 and this is the worst place that I have ever booked. I can't say pay more for a better home. I paid top dollar for the property. This home and its management is equivalent to a dive motel or slumlord dwelling.
