Overall, the layout/size worked well for our family. However, we were not impressed with the property management. And I realize this may be a covid staffing/holiday week issue but frustrating nonetheless. Some examples of our issues:
the door in one of the master bathrooms was partly hanging from the hinges and would not close. The toaster did not work. One of the dishwashers was broken (thankful there were two, but would’ve been nice to know one was broken before completely loaded). One of the cabinet doors in the kitchen was hanging off and would not work. The lamps in two of the bedrooms were broken/didn’t work. The outside garbage can had a lot of unbagged stinky trash. The rules say that you will be charged $25 if you do not bag your trash, so we didn’t want to be charged for this. There was no toilet paper in one of the bathrooms. There were no kitchen towels, washcloths or hot pads. We paid for a pool heat but it was not turned on and took two days to work. All of these issues can happen at any property, but we have always had good property management who would respond to issues. However, that was not the case with this property. We called for 4-5 days in a row about the trash before it was finally handled. The guy we spoke to was very nice and apologetic but I guess he couldn’t get anyone else to take care of the problem. The listing is very clear about only providing one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, which is fine, but it took two days before they even provided that— and we had already bought some. We also bought kitchen towels and hot pads (never came). We asked for functioning lamps day 1 but that also was never addressed. The men in our party rehung both doors so that they would function— after days of no response. Our younger kids asked to leave the parks early on our second day to go swimming— only to get home and find that the pool was cold. We called and asked to refund pool heat which they agreed— then the pool heat was on the rest of the week. I’m still not sure if we were charged. So, overall, this property added more stress to our vacation. We will be hesitant to rent another VRBO that is corporately owned/managed. We’ve stayed in many different VRBO’s across the US and abroad and have never had this number of issues with a property or response from the management company. Hopefully it is Covid/staffing related and they can resolve these issues. Unfortunately, we will definitely not be staying here again.
