Wildcat State Park is 2 miles away and has hunting, camping, horse back riding, and cross country skiing. Located in the middle of a traditional Amish community with multiude of shops. (Greenhouses, bakery, furnture, quilts, crafts, woven rugs, organic pruduce, leather work...) Kickapoo Valley Reserve is 8 miles away and has hiking, hunting, nature classes, and snow shoeing. Snowmobile trails lead throughout Vernon and Monroe County. Esther's Day Lily garden late June to August. La Crosse is 45 miles away.
