The cottage was the perfect getaway from the city. There was ample space to work a bit but mostly relax. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook most of our meals for the week (pans, baking sheet, cooking utensils) and a solid pantry of basic spices and things. The fridge also had more space than it seems at first glance. The cottage was set back just off of the main house so we were close to the driveway but still had our privacy, and the surrounding area was dark enough that we could see the milky way at night! Daisy the dog was wonderful, and the property owners were great communicators before and during our trip. We did a lot of hiking in the area and greatly enjoyed the waterfalls, especially in the Ithaca area which was a bit of a trek for a day trip but definitely worth the drive. Gallery Three-Two-One was a great local stop for gifts (and the owners were wonderful to chat with), and walking around the cottage’s property at sunset was a treat. The wooden lawn toys inside the cottage were also a fascinating surprise. I think our favorite part was just sitting in the bench outside reading and watching all the animals go by, from chickens and birds to caterpillars and slugs. We had a tough time leaving, and would absolutely come back given the opportunity. One thing to note, we definitely suggest starting your driving directions before you leave the cottage as we ran into spots of no service pretty quickly after we started driving.
