Walnut Canyon Cabins

10/10 Excellent

"We were greeted with chocolate chip cookies and a glass of wine and seltzer, while the property owners fed a herd of deer out in front of an amazingly beautiful canyon scape. The was more deer feed at the cabin, which we sprinkled in the meadow out front, and had lots of deer visitors which we enjoyed watching. We had questions about how to get to a favorite peach stand, which our hosts answered quite expertly with detailed directions. Breakfast was supreme, with farm fresh eggs, biscuit dough, berries, and canadian bacon all stocked in the fridge, ready for us to make ourselves. "

"My husband and I and our two small dogs had a nice stay in Hill Country. The house is as described and even nicer when you arrive. The kitchen is spacious snd well equipped and all the rooms are very nice. The screened porch is large and a great place to relax and enjoy nature. It was quiet and safe and not too far from Comfort or Fredricksburg. Only problem was the terrible flooding occurred while we were there so we couldn’t go to many of our favorite spots. We really want to visit again when it is cooler. "

"Come well prepared with anything you may need. The nearest Walmart / HEB is at least 25 minutes away , with no gas station or small convenience store before . It is on a property that is on acreage so we had a few dead and live bugs, spiders and even a live scorpion in the house. There are 6 bedrooms in the main house. The two on the first floor each have their on bathroom although one of those bathrooms must be shared with the public areas of the house. On the second floor there are 4 bedrooms and only one bathroom for all four. There is a separate small house ( Bunk house ) it has four beds all in the same room and a large bathroom with two showers . However those bugs I talked about before some were there . The kitchen is large . The hot tub and pool are very nice. We were for the most part comfortable but if your idea is to be close to Fredricksburg I would not choose this property . "

"We were looking for a place outside of Fredericksburg for our family Christmas vacation with our adult children and a few of their friends. The house is close to town but feels like its way out in the country side. We found the house and amenities exactly as described. "
