Decided to try a new hotel- Location is the only thing that saved my review from 1/5. Theres no ice bucket for ice you have to go to the lobby bar and they fill and grocery bag up with ice. No room service I had a cleaning associate open my door that had a DO NOT DISTURB sign on it and proceed to walk in while I was NAKED getting dressed. I screamed at the top of lungs. I complained to front desk stating that I felt unsafe and vulnerable and they just stared at me. No sorry or incentive for me to feel better about the situation. There is free breakfast but its like a school cafeteria. They herd you in and herd you out. We asked for a bottle of water and it was like we were asking for a pot of gold. We stayed in Chitown before at other hotels and they are more than happy to give us water. Mostly all the staff were crass and uncouth. For the amount we paid for a three day stay was simply unacceptable and we will not be staying at any of Riu properties again. If you are comfortable with 2/5 mediocre service this is for you.

This place was 10/10. The room was extremely clean. Had everything you needed. Even a washer and dryer. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They have a cute children’s area. The amenities floor was amazing and comfortable. Great area to walk to dinning and shopping and the oak st beach. We are walkers so while nothing was right around the corner we could walk to many sights like the river walk, the bean, chicago 360, all the stores.
